SUMMARY: Hatred turned to love, silence turned to seeking and lies become truth. Kota just hit the rock bottom making him realize that memories should not remained unlock. He seek for truth, he yearned for what really happened and why things are going this and that. But what if he is going further to what is already near to him? Is everything gone too late to change? Everyone is given curiosity and so will you open the box as well?

Chapter 37 Part 1
"Wishes"
Kei and Yuto are waiting for Kota to arrived in front of the orphanage. He said that he will bring his guitar and they will going to sing but he was late and both of them are already worried. After a few more minutes, Kota arrived with his guitar on him but there is something wrong with his face.
"Kou, what happened to your face?" Yuto asked him. "Someone punch you?"
"Nevermind… it doesn't hurt at all so don't worry. Let's go… I'm excited to show you my talent in playing guitar." Kota said proudly. They went inside the orphanage where there was an old piano. Kei said that he can play it and so Yuto and Kota insisted on hearing him play. They were so amazed when he did it like they never saw someone played a piano before. Kota play the guitar together with him and they were happy with the harmonization of their own music instrument. When it was already over, Kota and Kei said goodbye to Yuto and they will going to see him again. While the two are walking, Kei asked about Kota's face and like he was expecting it was his father who did it.
"Kou, Do…do you want to just stay with us?" Kei asked him randomly.
Kota chuckled and then tap Kei's head. "Don't worry… I will not die by just this."
"That is not what I mean… being hurt like this… Are you… are you not scared?"
"I can't leave my mom alone." Kota told him. "It's true that my dad is scary but you know my mom loves his so much and I can't leave her alone. I will be her guardian and I will protect her no matter what."
"Bu… but she… she doesn't care about you."
"It's fine…. As long as I love her it's fine." Kota replied softly. He looks confident but Kei knew that deep inside he was hurting as well.
They were about to reached Kota's house but he decided to walk Kei home. As they passed through they saw Ryo kissing another woman outside of the apartment that they were living. Kei and Kota immediately hide themselves so that they will not be seen. They were shocked with what they are doing and it seems like they wanted to do more than kissing but the girl stop him when Ryo started touching her boobs.
"Let's continue this tomorrow." the woman said teasingly. "See you darling." she continued as she give him one last kiss and depart. Ryo lighted his smoke and stayed outside until the cigarette was totally lighted. Kei and Kota went out where they were hiding and Kei noticed that Kota was raging in madness.
"That asshole, he was… he was cheating on my mother."
"Ko…Kou…calm down."
"I…I… I can't believe him… I… I want to punch him…" Kota told Kei.
"No stop Kou… you can't win against him. I mean… not in our age. You are not strong enough and if you get him mad you will just be killed. I guess it's better if we tell this to your mother first."
Kota breathe deeply "I'm sorry Kei… I think I can't… walk you home."
"It's fine… it's not very far away. But be careful Kou… don't do something careless."
Kei watched Kota as he went straight to his apartment. He really didn't want to let Kota go but he have no choice. Kota went inside and he saw Ryo's hurting his mom. He run towards her and protected her from him. "Please stop dad… please stop." he begged while blocking each hit that his father gave to his mother who was struck by fear.
"The face of the two of you irritates me…" he shouted then he went straight to his room. The two was left alone on the living room in silence and bearing the pain of the beating they received.
"Mom, let's escape." Kota offered.
"What are you talking about?"
"Mom… dad… I saw dad kissing other woman and it seems like they were dating. H… he doesn't really care about us anymore. Please mom, let's go away from this place."
"No… we will not leave your father and what are you talking about he have a woman. That is impossible, Ryo loves me so he will not going to cheat on me. Dinner is ready so just eat… I…I'm tired. I’ll just sleep."
"Mom…. Please listen to me I saw it… me and Kei saw it. it's not just a story I made to ruined his image. It's the truth… please mom… why not listen to me even ones. I am telling you the truth."
"I told you to stop talking bad things about your father! I will not allow you to say one more thing about him."
Days passed by Kei, Kota and Yuto tailed Ryo one day when he was with the girl who they heard her name was Sharley. They were really lovers and they met in a bar where Ryo was frequently going but even Kota knew the truth it was useless since his mother didn't want to believe and listen to him. He always wonder what's good with that guy that made his mother loves him so much.
It came a time that Yuto need to go. He was adopted by a nice and loving couple and brought him to Hokkaido. It was a sad goodbye but they promised to each other that they will be friends even they are separated from each other and sending mails and talking via telephone is a must.
A year after, Kota continued to struggle to his father's beatings and that goes the same as his mother who was crying at night everyday. He can't do something but to locked himself and just listen to her cries that he didn't know what it means. He can't understand why she can still take everything on her own despite of everything that Ryo was doing to him. But he wondered why he stay as well when his mother really doesn’t care about him nor his father loves him. He wonder why he was born when he will not experience love in both parents that he have. He should be losing his gripped in the real world but since he met Kei he felt that he was save from despair. As long as they were together they were happy and he didn't want to be separated with him.
Kei was confined in the hospital again for a fever. Even it is just a fever, it's already a big deal for him because of his condition. Kota came to visit and he take care of him when Noren was gone for work. While playing his guitar and he saw a glimpse of the nurse that told them the story of Pandora's Box he think of something good to do.
"Kei-chan, write your wishes on a piece of paper."
"What is that for?"
"Just do it… I'll write mine too." Kota said. The two write their wishes in a piece of paper without seeing each other. They folded it, put it in a bottle and then put it in a box. They both went out of the Kei's room and went to the hundred old tree.
"What are you doing?"
"You hear about time capsule?" Kota asked him. "It's like giving a letter to your own self in the future. But I made a few changes and put wishes instead. We are still young and so there are things that we wanted to do that we still can't afford to do and so we will write it and when we are at the right age we will dig it up so that we can do it. But… the twist is that I will grant your wish and you will grant my wish."
"I'll grant your wish?"
"Yup." Kota smiled. "Let us call this box… Pandora's Box. "
"Like the story the nurse told us."
"Isn't it cool? Then we will hide it here in the hundred old tree. Ones we grow up, both of us will digged this together and fulfill each wishes. Because of this… we should not be separated, no matter what happen no one must forget about each other. Even we got separated you must not forget about me coz both of us, at the same time will open this together."
"I will not leave your side… no matter what."
"You can't say that… we will be junior high soon."
"No… I promise I will not leave your side. You… you did so much things to me and I owe you so much."
"Bu..but I didn't do anything to you."
It was a childish act but it is really important to those two. It just make their relationship stronger than before and a hope that they will met or maybe they will be still with each other in the future.
While Kota was playing guitar in the park his father arrived so mad asking where is his mother. Kota didn't know where is his mother and so he answered that he didn't know but Ryo started hitting him again and he even threw his guitar away making it crumbled into pieces. "Wh….why did you do that?" he snapped when he saw his guitar totally wreck. It's an important thing for him and so he was so mad when it happened.
"So you knew how to asked back now?"
"You asshole.. You asshole… I hate you… I really hate you." he snapped.
"I don't care about what you think about me. Where is she? Where is your mother?"
"I said that I don't know… and I hope she just run away from you. I can't help seeing her being hurt by you. I'm tired already… living with you… living together with you in your stupid world."
"Brat." Ryo whispered and he was ready to punch him on the face but someone suddenly blocked Kota to protect him from the coming punch. "Wh..who are you?"
"Kei… Kei… what are you doing here?" Kota asked him.
"I can't stand it… please stop hurting Kou anymore. I beg you."
"Who is this?"
"I am Kei Inoo. I am Kota's friend… please… stop it already."
"Inoo?" Ryo whispered then he heard another voice coming near them and calling Kei's name. HE look back and saw Noren coming towards them. "Ahhh… so you are their son."
"Kei-chan, I told you not to run away that much" Noren said. "Are you alright? Kou, are you alright?" she asked and he just nodded his head. "Please stop this Yabu-san, you must not hurt children."
"I didn't know… my son is friend with an Inoo." Ryo smirked. "What… a great coincidence."
Noren didn't say a thing when he heard Ryo's words. They decided to go and she even brought Kota with her just to protect him from his father. But Kei's mother knew that it was not a good encounter at all. When Kei became friends with Kota he was surprised and the truth is he wanted to pull him away because of a bad history between their family but then whenever Kei is with Kota he was smiling so much as if he forgot that he was sick and she likes that.
"I'm sorry about what my dad did." Kota told Noren when they were in front of the Inoo's house. "And also thank you for… everything."
"You are such a nice kid." Noren said as she tap his head. "Please continue being Kei's friend and also… I hope you will find happiness soon." she smiled gently.

Days passed by easily and Kota and Kei's friendship continued to grows stronger each day. Kota became a part of the Inoo family as he can fell more motherly towards Noren than to his own mother. One day, Kota asked Kei to met in their usual place and they wanted to go to the store where they used to go to play some music. Kei went in the park earlier than usual and so he have more time to wait for Kota but he was not expecting what happened next. He saw Kota's father coming near him with the same woman who he and Kota saw the other day.
"Go…good day." Kei greeted as a sign of respect but he was too scared to stare at him in the eyes. He wonder what was he doing in that place and what do he need from him. He hope Kota will arrive soon so that the uneasiness that he can feel will be gone.
"Such a pretty boy…" Sharley commented. "Are you sure about the plan?" she asked Ryo.
"Of course… this is my way to take revenge."
"R…Revenge?" Kei muttered but before he questioned the two the girl grabbed his hand. "Wh…what are you doing? Please let me go…" Kei struggled but then a white cloth was covered in his nose and mouth and he felt his body inhaled something that made him unconscious.
"Put him in the car instantly… before that brat arrives." Ryo ordered.
After a few minutes, Kota arrived rushing. He help an old lady to cross the street and so he was late with the time they schedule to met. He arrived at the park but Kei was not there. He took a look around but he was not everywhere. He thought that he was already too late and so he prepared something to apologize to Kei but he was late more than him.
"Where is Kei?" he whispered. He walk a little more and noticed a bracelet on the ground. He was sure that it was Kei's bracelet that Yuto give to him before he left. That time he felt that something not good is about to happen.
