SUMMARY: Hatred turned to love, silence turned to seeking and lies become truth. Kota just hit the rock bottom making him realize that memories should not remained unlock. He seek for truth, he yearned for what really happened and why things are going this and that. But what if he is going further to what is already near to him? Is everything gone too late to change? Everyone is given curiosity and so will you open the box as well?

Chapter 10
"Realization"
HIkaru, Kota and the rest of the students who joined the outreach program are so busy practicing. According to the program there will be 15 performance all in all and so everyone should take turn on the stage for the practice. As Kota strummed his guitar he noticed that Kei was not around the area. He knew that he is part of the props people but he was not with them. “Hikaru, where is Kei?” Kota asked him.
“Are you not listening a while ago? The teacher said that Kei is sick and so he will not coming today. Yuya is also absent but I don’t know what is the reason behind.” Hikaru answered him.
“Sick?”
“Yeah. It’s normal already since Kei really have a weak body. Whenever he is absent then it means that he is sick or got cold but don’t worry he will be coming to school tomorrow or the next day. Things will be going well and so let us just practice.” Hikaru answered as he tap Kota’s shoulder. “We can’t afford mistake and you know that.”
“There’s no reason for you to tell me that coz I know I will not mess up.” Kota said proudly.

Yuya was standing in front of the telephone booth when he saw Kei walking towards his direction. He asked Kei to be absent that day because he wanted to talk to him about something that he wanted to be clear. “I’m sorry for asking you all of a sudden.” Yuya told him.
“It’s fine. It’s just practice today for the outreach program and so… what do you want to talk about?” Kei asked him.
“Let’s enter the café first.” Yuya told him.
They ordered something to eat before Yuya started to talk what is in his mind. He was bothered by so many things and one of them is who is really that child who he met that day. All these time he always knew it was Kei but then when Hikaru told him that Ryosuke owned the bracelet, doubts started to flashed on his mind. Is it Kei or Ryosuke?
“When I was young, I thought I was abandoned by my mother. I was sick that time and so I can’t think clearly and then a boy help me to search for her. He didn’t leave my side and he really push me up when I am losing hope. At the end of the day, my mother came back and was searching for me as well. I was so happy… I thanked that boy and give him a present and that is a bracelet that I won from a lottery. Since that day I always consider that someone as my angel, as my hero, as my savior. I was searching for him but I can’t find him ever since until… I found you.” Yuya started his story. “You have same bracelet…"
“I… I don't remember meeting you before?” Kei told him. "The first time I saw you was when I transferred to your school. Besides the bracelet that I have was given by someone I knew. He told me that he won it in a lottery and he immediately give it to me since it can fulfill wish."
“Are you serious?"
"I am." Kei told him. "Is this mean you mistaken me as that child that save you before? All this time?"
"Then… it is Ryo?" Yuya asked.
“You didn't ask him yet? About the bracelet?"
"I didn't… I…I can't actually help myself to talk to him lately since I know he was hurt after what happened. But if it was him…what should I do?" Yuya asked again. "There are lots of things happened between us and to discover this mistake is so… frustrating."
"Are you disappointed?" Kei questioned. "that it was not me?"
"I…it's not like that. I am just shocked… besides…"
"Yuya, since we are here I want to make things clear to you. It's not like that I wanted to hurt your feelings but… I don't think… you really like me." Kei started. "I guess you are attracted to me because you knew it was me who save you that day but It was not me. I never became a part of your childhood memories. It was not me who save you through dark times. More than that, why don't you consider him? I mean… Ryo and you are been together longer and in times of trouble Ryo is always with you. Despite of his weak personality he tried to be strong coz he was looking after you." he continued.
"I don't think it was like that… even you are not that boy I know I will still like you."
"But you will never love me." Kei told him. "I am not saying this because I am your friend, I am saying this in a point of view of stranger who witness the relationship that the two of you have. I know the two of you fits each other so…"
"Why are you putting more salt to my wounds?" Yuya asked Kei. "Can't you console me even only this time."
"What are you planning to do now?"
"I don't know… I really don't know but right now I have something I am very sure of… you really can't love me huh. Am I really not your type?"
"You are more like a brother to me."
Yuya is been silent for a moment and then he laugh out loud. "I give up… I really give up." he said. "You are really something Kei… you're painfully honest. Tell me are you a demon in disguise?"
“You are a great person Yuya. You are nice, caring and gentleman but I don't deserve someone like you." Kei replied back and then he start eating his food. "Do you want to go somewhere?"
"Of course I do… I am just depressed right now. You should take responsibility."

For an unknown reason Kota felt frustrated. Things gone well on the last day of the practice but his day feels incomplete without seeing that annoying brat who keep on bothering him each time of the day. He can’t remember when it started but it seems like he started to felt bored when Kei was not around and also what bothers him the most is the fact that he heard something he should not.
“I saw Yuya and Kei together in town. It seems like they are shopping.” One of the students who just arrived a while back said to them.
“Sick huh… liar.” He whispered as he walked to the town to buy something. He get the paper, where the things needed for tomorrow was listed, on his pocket and he also saw the envelop that Ryosuke give him before he leave the practice room. It was an invitation for guardians to have a chance to watch their performance tomorrow but even he give it to his mother he knew she will not be coming specially if she knew she participated in an event she didn’t want him to join.
He is about to throw in a trash can but then he have a second doubt and he just keep it inside his pocket. He continue to walk when all of a sudden a little boy bump into him accidentally.
“Kou-chan.” One of his friends called worriedly. “Are you alright Kou-chan?” he asked again as he approach him.
Kota heard like a bell ring into his hear as he heard that name from his ear. He instantly heard some voices again on his head calling the same as what he heard asking if he is alright. He also can hear some sobbing and crying at the back of his mind making him look troubled. He felt a sharp pain on his head making himself stop in the middle of the way where there are lots of people passing by. He suddenly feels dizzy and he didn't know what to do.
“Yabu… Yabu… Yabu, are you alright?” Kota startled when someone tap his shoulder and when he take a look at his side he saw Kei standing there and looking at his worriedly. He was sweating cold and his heartbeat was so fast. “Are you sick? You look pale.”
He get his handkerchief and he wipe his own sweat and suddenly he started to walk. He didn’t know what just happened and it is the first time that it happened to him and so he was shocked. The sharp pain that he experience a while back was now gone and his body is calming a little.
“Yabu…” Kei called as he followed him.
“Why are you following me?”
“I am worried about you. What just happened?”
“It’s nothing… leave me alone.”
“Leave you alone? When you are like that?” Kei asked him again. “I can’t do that. Tell me what’s wrong with you.”
“I told you to leave me alone you liar!” Kota shouted on Kei and made passersby to stop and check on them. Kei was also shocked with what Kota said to him and he just blink his eyes as a response. “Sick? Is this how a person, who uses sickness as an excuse to be absent to school, doing? You look good and better so why didn’t you attend school? You have a date with someone? Is it Yuya?”
“What are you talking about?”
“What are you talking about my ass.” Kota replied back. He himself can’t understand why he was so mad and why is he shouting in the public. It feels like he doesn’t have hold to himself and he just snap just knowing that Yuya and Kei dated. It’s true that he told Yuya that he can have Kei besides he likes him but, for some reason, he didn’t want it to happen. Just imagining that the two are together frustrates him. He continued to move forward, Kei followed him on the other hand.
“Yabu… wait for me. You are so fast… I can’t… I can’t keep up. Besides why are you so mad? What have I done?” Kei struggled to say. He is already panting and he even stop while touching his chest.
They are in a place where there are lesser people and so even they are far away from each other Kota can still hear Kei’s complain. He finally decided to stop when his mind was finally cleared. “Mad? Me? Why will i?”
“That’s something… I also wanted to ask to you.” Kei panted.
Kota saw Kei panting like he really did his best to approached him. He step forward, going to Kei’s direction.
Why am I mad? Why am I frustrated? Why am I feeling this way? Just after I hear you and Yuya are together… why am I feeling this way?
“Tell me where did you go? You use sickness as an excuse so that you will not attend today’s class and even practice and now I will see you here, wearing a casual clothes like you go on some date? Don’t tell me that you went to the hospital and have a check up coz I will not believe it.”
“I met with Yuya.” Kei answered honestly. “I’m sorry if I lied but… I can’t think of anything and so.”
“So it’s true. What did the two of you do? Date? Shopping together?” Kota asked as he is becoming nearer and nearer each step from Kei.
“It’s not a date. Yuya message me that he wanted to talk to me. It’s about Ryo, everything we talk about is Ryo.”
“You know Yuya likes you, do you think I will believe that you just talk about Ryosuke, when the two of you are just alone together? There are… lots of things that could happen.”
Kei didn’t reply immediately. “He asked me again about my feelings but I… like last time… I didn’t accepted it.”
“What did you answer him?” Kota finally reach Kei and he is standing tall in front of Kei. “Why can’t you accept his feelings?”
Kei look straight to Kota’s eyes. “Coz… I like someone else.” He whispered with a calming smile.
Kota raise his right eyebrow as he glare at Kei and then he turned his head away from him while he cross his arms around his chest. “And so? You talk to him privately which means… this is for final? He will not bother you anymore?”
“Yeah I guess so.” Kei replied back. “This is… for real.”
“Really? Then that will be great for you right? With this you will not sulk anymore besides the grand piano and talk to it like you are some sort of stupid.” Kota told him. “I’m going… I still need to buy some things needed for tomorrow.”
“Why are you going to do that?”
“Coz there is certain someone who is part of the props team who didn’t come today just to have a date and so all his responsibility was given to me.” Kota replied back. “It’s fine… it’s not like a big deal.. I just need to buy all this stuffs listed in here.”
“Want my help?”
Kei followed Kota on buying the things needed. Kei is good at arguing with price and so they used the money wisely and they even have money for some ice cream. When they are finally finished the two decided to separate ways but before that Kei leave Kota a message. “Good luck for tomorrow.” But Kota didn’t give him a response.

Suzanne was busy looking at her notebooks in the kitchen table when Kota arrived. “Welcome home Kou.” She greeted as she close the notebook and look at her son with a warm smile of a mother.
“I’m home.” He said as he went near the kitchen table and then put an envelop on top of it. Suzanne wondered what the envelop is all about and before she asked it was already answered. “Tomorrow our school have an event and this is an invitation for guardians to watch.”
“Event?” Suzanne asked him as she look at the envelop. “This is… this is the first time…”
“Yeah I know. This is the first time that I joined a school event after what happened to me. It’s fine if you don’t go besides I know you will dislike what you will see."
“Yo… you will going to perform? Music?” Suzanne asked.
“What else am I good at? Music is the only thing I have that I can show people and so… it’s something I only can do.” Kota answered back. “Like I said I don’t care if you go or not, it’s not really Important. It will be my advantage if you don't go besides… I knew already what you will tell me."
“Kou, when are you going to learn?" Suzanne asked him seriously. "Why are my words don't sink in to your mind?"
“I wonder too." Kota answered back. "Aren't you my mother, you should know the answer to that. I'm going to my room."
"Kou please don't make things complicated for me. I am doing everything for you to have a good life and this is… this is what you are doing to me? All you need is to follow my words, is it that hard for you to do?"
"I’ve been thinking about this but why are you so against me doing music. You are my mother so normally you should be supporting me with things that I wanted to do but then…. Among every people surrounding me you are the one who is the most against it. When I am still living with grandma you make sure that I will not have a chance to touch a single guitar. You throw and burn every music sheet inside that house and you argue to grandma about this stuffs.”
“It is for your sake.”
“Every time I asked you always answer the same thing. How is music and playing guitar can affect my life huh?”
“Please Kou… let us not argue about this anymore.”
“Even you don’t say it I know for the fact that this is something about my past right? I don’t understand but I have this feeling that you don’t want me to remember anything I have before or you just hated me so you are punishing me. Not telling anything about it, hiding things from me, your lies is all over the place.”
“Kou… don’t talk to me like that. You don’t know how hard this is for me as well. I am just thinking about your sake and nothing else. It is better for you not to remember your past… it is better for the two of us to forget about it.”
“Then why don’t you try to stand on my shoe to understand my feeling as well. you don’t know how hard this is for me. To look at people’s face like they are stranger to me. I don’t know anyone at all, I don’t know anything and that make me feel so stupid. ” Kota replied back and then he sigh “I have enough… I’m going to my room.”
“Kou… Kou…” Suzanne called but Kota didn’t listen to her calls and he just continues to his room and lock it so that no one can bother him anymore.
