SUMMARY: Hatred turned to love, silence turned to seeking and lies become truth. Kota just hit the rock bottom making him realize that memories should not remained unlock. He seek for truth, he yearned for what really happened and why things are going this and that. But what if he is going further to what is already near to him? Is everything gone too late to change? Everyone is given curiosity and so will you open the box as well?

Chapter 7
"Deal"
HIkaru put both his hands at the back of his head as he look up at the dark sky. He was chewing bubblegum in his mouth as he sway his feet as he walk. “And why are you walking together with me?” Hikaru glare at his side where Daiki was walking besides him while he busy typing on his cellphone.
“You are really stupid HIkaru… have you forgotten that we are just living besides each other? Of course taking the same path is normal.” Daiki answered him.
“That is not what I mean. I am asking why are you walking together with me at this time? Are you sure it’s fine for you to leave the restaurant anytime you want just like that? If uncle will get mad don’t ever point on me. I have nothing to do with this.” HIkaru said.
“Don’t worry my father is not as fierce as before.”
“Are you kidding me? Yesterday I saw your father pointing a knife into someone who didn’t pay his debt on time. Is that what you call not fierce? He is scary and I can’t imagine myself living together with him.”
“It’s not his fault… it’s that other person’s fault.” Daiki defended. “By the way…” he continued as he put his cellphone back on his pocket. “I wonder what you are doing all these time. Are you slucking off? What’s with this slow pace relationship that you have?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Your relationship with Kei? Why are you so slow?”
HIkaru stopped from walking and then he put down his hand as he look at Daiki. “I don’t get what you are talking about.”
Daiki flashed an irritated expression on his face and then he pinched HIkaru’s cheeks “You asshole… didn’t you like Kei? You like him right? So why are you so slow and not doing any moves at all? I already leave you alone but you are as irritated as you are and then there is even this guy… that Yabu… if you will not do anything Kei will be stolen away from you.”
“Ouch…ouch… it hurts.” HIkaru complained as he slapped Daiki’s hand away from him. He caressed his face because it was aching and then he look at Daiki seriously “What are you talking about I like Kei?”
Daiki stomped on HIkaru’s right foot and that made Hkaru shout in pain. “Are you blind? All this years you didn’t realize it yet? You like Kei right? You care for him right? Are you an asshole? Crazy? Stupid? How come you don’t realize yet your own feeling when it is already obvious? Do you want me to always point you out everything?”
“You don’t need to hurt me you dumbass!” Hikaru shouted back to Daiki. “Besides… I really can’t understand what you are talking about. Kei… Kei is important to me it’s true that he is special to me as well and I don’t hate him.”
“Which means you like him.” Daiki pointed out. “Oh come on… you are really slowpoke. I can sense that Yuya already confessed to Kei. Rivals… there are lots of rivals all around.”
“Yuya? Yuya confessed to Kei? He likes Kei?”
Daiki bite his lower lips as he punch HIkaru on his stomach but not that strong. “You irritate me. How come you are not aware with all these romantic pheromone all around you? Why are you so ignorant?”
“The heck… why do you need to punch me?”
“To wake you up.”
“What if I didn’t notice? What’s the point? Besides how can you say all these things like you know everything about what is going on? You are not going with us even when you are still studying at our school.”
“I am an expert towards love and even I don’t hang around with every one of you I know and I can see each and everyone’s feeling. Yuya likes Kei, Ryosuke likes Yuya and you like Kei. There is only one person who I can’t read at all and that is Kei. He is too good nature that he cares for everyone equally and so I can’t see if he cares for someone more than he treated others.”
“It’s his nature.” HIkaru commented and then he became silent for seconds again. “Do i… do I really like Kei?”
Daiki put his hands on his waist and glare at Hikaru. “Do you want to know if you are in love with him?”
“Yeah… I guess so.” Hikaru answered but he was not sure about his answer. “But I really don’t think… I am.”
“Date me then. If we are dating and you are still thinking about Kei like you are imagining me as him or you are thinking about him while I am with you then that means that you really like him or if not him then maybe you like someone else but I am 100% sure that you like that guy.” Daiki offered him.
“Date you? You?” HIkaru asked in surprised that he even pointed on the little guy in front of him. “Is that really necessary? I don’t want to be part of your collection.”
“What are you talking about? This is just an experiment and also I don’t like you at all and so why will I put you in my collection? Who will like someone who is known as stupid HIkaru?”
“You are the only one who is calling me that.” HIkaru answered back. “Fine… I’ll date you. I really don’t know what’s the difference between liking Kei as a friend and liking Kei as lover and so with this maybe I will find things out and my mind will be cleared with all this thoughts.”
Daiki lift up his hand and stick his smallest finger out. “Let’s do some pinky promise like we use to do before. We will date each other until we will find out the truth. On the process of this deal, you are not allowed to say no to me whenever I asked you out and also it will only be me who will determined if this deal will be over. Addition to that no one must know about this deal between the two of us. This is a secret that we should keep together.” He stated as he smirked as he waits for Hikaru to lift up his pinky.
“I am not really sure about this but alright nothing will be gone if we try.” HIkaru lift up his hand and intertwined his finger with Daiki and that settled the contract between the two.
Finally they reached their house which is just in front of each other’s house. Before Daiki entered the gate he stop and called Hikaru’s attention. “Stupid Hikaru, that Yabu guy… did he and Kei know each other already before?”
“I don’t think so. Their first meeting didn’t turned very good it’s just this few days that things started to get calm between them though I don’t understand why Kei was so attached to him. For some reason I also have this feeling that those two knew each other or… Kei knew him but that is impossible really.” Hikaru answered. “Why did you asked? Don’t tell me you are interested to that Kota as well?”
Daiki raised his right eyebrow while staring at Hikaru’s awkward face. “Of course not. I’m going in… see you tomorrow.”
“All right… goodbye.” He wave his hand as he watch Daiki entered the door of his house. Daiki locked the door and then he leaned his back on it thinking about what just happened the whole day. Seeing them again made him feel nostalgic and for some reason he felt the urge to come back. He missed them so much, but he can’t turned back now. He made up his mind that he will escape away from them, especially him. But despite that he didn’t know what he is plotting all of a sudden. Making that deal together with HIkaru, his thoughs was bothering him.
I transferred school to be away from him but I am doing something to make us closer to each other. What the hell I am doing?
He went upstairs going to his room and then he just take off his shoes and just throw his bag didn’t care where it will going to land and then he jump over his bed hugging his pillow tightly. His phone ring and then he saw a message from it.
I WANTED TO SEE YOU TOMORROW. ARE YOU FREE?
Daiki sigh as he rotate his body on his bed while still checking on the message.
I’m gay and I dated a lot of guys in my life but everything was just use to conceal my true feelings. I’m in love with Hikaru, my childhood/best friend but as clear as the sky I know he didn’t like me at all. I know and In order to protect myself I am running away but it seems like my road is just an infinite circle. I tried to avoid this feelings but then it will come back again and it just gotten stronger. I feel like I’m trapped and will not be released from this curse and so… I formulated a plan which can give me two results. First it will make my road continuously straight or it will create an end to this infinite circle.
SORRY I CAN’T GO AND ALSO… I WANT TO BREAK UP WITH YOU.

“I am here to tell you an important announcement.” Ryosuke said in front as he hold in his hand a piece of paper. “I have here a memorandum from school talking about an upcoming activity of our school. It is an outreach program for an orphanage sponsored by our school. They wanted to do some feeding program and a little entertainment for the children and also to gain funds.” He continued. “The school wanted for volunteers to join this event.”
“But exam is about to start right? We don’t think we have time to join such activity.” One of the students commented.
“Yeah and also university entrance examination is also coming. We third years should be preparing for those stuffs.”
“This is a volunteer work and so if you didn’t want to join then it’s fine. It’s true that it is not only third years who are chosen to do this. Actually first years and even second years will be asked to do this but as an older batch we are somewhat oblige to do this to guide those younger from us.” Ryosuke explained.
“Well this intersects at the date of the examination?”
“According to the date here I think it will be held after the exam, 2 weeks after the exam.”
“I think it’s okay.” HIkaru finally talked. “I mean 2 weeks is enough to practice for some number for that event.”
“I have here a piece of paper where you can write your names if you wanted to join. After that further announcement for practice and meetings will be given to us who volunteer.” Ryosuke told them again as he give that piece of paper to the guy in front. “Additional to that, this can be add as a extra curriculum activity which can add to the scores in our grades.”
HIkaru tilted his body to look at Kei who was busy playing with his pen on his hand. “Kei, are you going?”
“Yeah… I am.” Kei replied back directly.
“Then I’m coming too. Maybe we can perform together in that event.” HIkaru said excitedly but then his smile on his face suddenly vanished when Kei look at Kota who was looks like he doesn’t care at all about the topic.

HIkaru is about to go home when he saw Daiki in front of the gate of the school. “Wh…what are you doing here?”
“Asking you for a date?” Daiki asked him back. “You’re not with Kei or the others today?” he asked as he look at HIkaru’s back.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with those three but it seems like they change. They are more secretive and I am being left out. They don’t tell me anything, I feel like I am nothing to them.” HIkaru said emotionally.
“Being emo is not your type.” Daiki told him. “Well you can’t blame them, you are not the reliable type so maybe they can’t trust you with their secrets. You can’t even give a reasonable comment and you always end serious thing with a lame joke.”
“I can only hear insults.” HIkaru said. “Aren’t you going to say something good about me? I’m already depressed you know.”
“Ahmmm… is there anything about you worth complementing?” Daiki asked as he smirked.
“Tsk…. I hate you.” HIkaru uttered with irritation. He then started to walk and Daiki followed him. “Kei… Ryo and even Yuya… it seems like… things are starting to change.”
“Time does not wait for no one and so you need to move together with the flow. Sooner or later you will change as well and you will not feel left out too. It’s part of life right? Being like this… realizing things…making you mature… we will graduate soon and then we will be adults.”
“It sometimes scare me… thinking that everything will change… even my own self…I am scared of changes.”
Daiki stare at Hikaru from the back. HIkaru is being serious which is really rare thing to happen but he remembered in the past that they always have this kind of relationship. HIkaru may look like an air head and stupid but deep inside… he has the deepest thoughts. Daiki poked HIkaru’s back “There’s nothing to fear… it’s just normal.”
“But I am glad you are not changing yet.” HIkaru told him as he turned back. “Even you decided to transfer from different school I think you are still the Daiki that I know since childhood. You still love to bully me and then you always teased me and also you still talk and act like before. I hope you will not change… I hope you will stay like this.”
Hikaru didn’t you noticed?
“Stupid… you’re saying nonsense thing again.”
I am the first one who changed among the 4 of us.
“It’s not nonsense… I am being serious here. Yosh… I want some parfait… let us go to your restaurant maybe I can eat free there.”
That was the reason I decided to leave… so that you can’t see my overflowing feelings for you.
“Let us just see if my father will let you eat there for free.” Daiki said.
“Y…your father? He is there? I… I think I will take back my words. Let us go somewhere else.” HIkaru said in fear as he remembered about Daiki’s father and that night that he saw him holding a knife and chasing after a man who didn’t pay for his debt on time.
“I’m just kidding.” Daiki tap HIkaru’s head. “Let’s go… you can eat every parfait that you wanted. If you want I’ll prepare it for you.”
Hikaru, someday, if possible, please forgive me for my selfish desire.
