Though the sight of celebration is everywhere, it makes me uneasy when the sun is not rising... I am sure the vampires will be taking advantage of this and be out feeding. I should do something about it.

T-Then how can you possibly be alive?
*Even a vampire can only live up to 300 odd years... and vampires had only appeared after Armageddon.*
[ooc; Sorry for the late x_x;; Work killed me for the past few days]

Humans built us to be perfect. We were made to survive nearly everything that space could throw at us right before we were sent along with a hand-picked humans to colonize Mars. We found the Bacillus and the Crusnik viruses there, and we tested to see what they did. The Bacillus mutated when we came back to earth, giving rise to the vampires. The Crusnik only could bond with the perfect system - namely myself and the others like me. It also extended our lives.
[OOC: No worries. I know how that goes!]

No, this wasn't going to be easy.*
Layd Caterina knows about it. The others think that it is a special skill, just like they all have theirs.
Yes, I was involved. at one time, I led the fight against the humans.
*He eyed her for a moment and then grinned, slowly. It was an expression that wouldn't have sat well with anyone that thought they knew him as a clumsy priest.*
But at the time, it was a fight I believed in, just like your fight to free your home town from the Count's hands.

Awhile ago, if anyone told her that vampires were the way they were because of this- this Bacillus, she would have called them a liar. Now… she does not know what to think anymore.
Was this the answer she was looking for all this while?
Who knew she would have gotten it so easily?
Esther followed the course of action she knew best. To listen.
Who was right and who was not does not matter… not at the moment. She still had time to decide whether Father Nightroad was lying or not. His expression did not escape her.*
My… no, our fight to protect our home… was out of desperation. It was for… survival. I have no idea what your war was about ( ... )

*He sighed and pressed his fingers against his forehead, closing his eyes and looking old and weary.*
The follies of youth, I suppose. Ah well, that is true. We need to make up for the mistakes that happened before."
