That's the same with Christmas, Halloween and other Christian holidays and customs. In order to combat paganism and other faiths and convert more followers, the Church appropriated many of the customs and beliefs and set holidays on the holy calendar in conjunction with the pagan holidays.

That's why when folks get so up in arms about the origins of holidays, I just laugh and shake my head. Because God judges you by what's in your heart and your deeds.

LOL and people wonder why I don't follow or believe in that bullshit. You can't even say whats real and whats made up sometimes if you try digging far back enough.
