for the record

So I'm not even going to talk about Sherlock Remix right now. I'm going to talk about television instead, and then catch up on emails.

Homeland, Bosom Buddies, The Good Wife, Community, Hannibal, Louie (SPOILERS FOR ALL) )

tv, the good wife, community

I'm glad you liked Homeland!

I adored the Carrie/Brody relationship in S1, but it got a bit too conventionally romantic for me in S2, though the acting continued to be amazing. I liked Quinn 'cause I like the actor and felt he brought an edge of meanness back the show that S2 was otherwise lacking--but I suspect he was there are as a deux ex machina (there to kill Brody if they hadn't gotten another season), so put the inconsistencies in the character were down to that.

I haven't watched any the other things up there! I can recommend Top of the Lake, though, if you looking for something as intense as Homeland (with a driven female lead).

I meant to say that while I totally bought into Carrie's feelings for Brody, I did think his for her ("this was love") were a little harder to swallow. Yeah, I could see Quinn's function, and there was certainly nothing deficient in the way the actor played him, but he just never made a real impact on me.

I'm not looking for more fandoms just yet, since I seem to be finding old ones every day! I was cleaning out my closet last weekend and put on The Sound of Music and now am obsessed with the idea of Captain Von Trapp and the Baroness together.

Nice words on Hannibal! Perfect description.

I know I'm alone on my ongoing happiness with Community, but you are correct in saying that there needs to be more classroom group-time. The body switching was absolutely hilarious. The Dean-as-Jeff rocked my world obviously as that's my new ship. Because reasons.

They could have done without the puppet ep, you know? So in that sense, yes, less theme-eps and more of the usual stuff we love. Although I never find it not-funny. I can't make sentences right now. ;)

Thank you - though I must admit that I haven't caught the last three (!) eps of Hannibal and now I'm wondering if I'll work up the nerve to do so. (Of course, reports that Lee Pace might guest star on the show next season - if there is a next season - help quite a lot.)

Dean-as-Jeff was fantastic, and I should have mentioned it in my write-up. I still need to read your Dean/Jeff story! And I know what you mean about finding the eps funny even if they're not up to all of your other expectations. I think for me the show feels like a reboot that no one is acknowledging was a reboot, which is throwing me off.

When do you leave for London?
