....how do you make such a big casting blunder?! Don't they realise that changing his ethnicity changes the whole set of tropes and stereotypes associated with him? Twoflower CAN'T work as an American tourist because he's not that stereotype, and the entire story would have to be altered to make him fit it!

What the hell, people?!

I mean, I'm sure Sean Astin will turn in a good performance. And, yes, the Stereotypical Asian Tourist character does have some issues, especially if that's the only Asian character in the film. But still. Whitewashing doesn't fix that either, and it is pretty clearly canon, even if the physical description isn't explicit.

I didn't even know they were making a Colour of Magic movie, mind. So hunh.

In that case, I vote they do the Guards books and cast Vimes British Asian.
