Happy Birthday Bing.

Wedges everywhere. Its awfully depressing. This and banning "plan B" just go to enforce the right's desire to make women second class citizens.

It's not plan B, from what I've seen: it's plan A. Plan B is Dilation and Evacuation: which is still legal and less safe for the woman.

Plan B is an emergency contraception pill, preventing implantation of the blastula. Nothing to do with abortions.

Actually a bit of rooting around indicates its not actrually banned, but teenagers have difficulty getting easy access to it, and several pharmacies will refuse to sell it even if presented with a valid prescription. Why did I think some states had banned it? Maybe because they would if they could...

I'm not touching this discussion with a 10' bargepole.

Re: undermining of the public's science education.

It's only going to get worse. It has always been expedient for a person in a position of power (usually a politician, and hence often the government) to redefine an issue as something more convenient for them to deal with. So there are always going to be sooo many reasons to rail against the latest stupid decision or idiotic take on an issue. Yet generally all anybody can do is to try and set the matter straight with those that they know. So I admire you for that.
