Librarians are a nosy bunch. Always in each other’s business, because on slow days, being in each other’s business was The Thing to Do (besides playing online Tetris or sitting behind one’s desk staring intently at one’s screen in an effort to appear busy).

Okay, I starting chuckling at this. I work at a library and that's basically what happens. XD Oh and the image of the circulation desk ladies also made me laugh and think of the ladies at my library.

Oh dear, I really shouldn't read this in class when I'm supposed to work. I was grinning like a maniac when I was reading this and my teacher was looking strangely at me. Er, well.

I like well written AUs and yours is definitely one. (Even if Tobi being younger than Deidara bugged me at first.. Ergh, I shouldn't be biased about stuff like that. I just.. prefer TobiDei to DeiTobi. D: Bleh, I fail at life.)

Well written as ever (although if someone's English enough to say "bloody" and "sod off" I doubt they'd say "candy", but 'scuse me my Britpicking) and I cracked a grin more than a few times, but ... I'm not convinced that this is Deidara. He's a believable character, but I can't convince myself he's in-character. Maybe it's just me, but he seems too normal.

Yeah, I know. He does seem normal. I was worried about how that part would be received. Obviously, it doesn't work for you. But...it's only the first chapter, Squeak. 8D Though you're allowed to think what you think. It's cool. ^^

Ahaha. SWEETS, MADAM, SWEETS. Although if it's a SLIGHT British accent that just sort of pops up every now and again like you described then he'd probably have dropped the "bloody"-ing anyway (I've discarded "arse" altogether in favour of "ass", and I was only in America for a month), unless he persisted out of stubborn bloody-mindedness, in which case his accent would probably still be pretty pronounced.

I'm glad you're aware of it, because I've seen that sort of stuff done by people who do not seem to realise that the character they're writing is, canonically, a total homicidal batshit whackjob, buuut ... yeah, first chapter or no, I'm just kinda not buying it. I'll probably keep reading cause it's you, but if it was anyone else I don't think I'd be giving them the benefit of the doubt :|

laf Squeaky come on. It's me. You know I know Deidara. XD (And...well...this isn't canon, anyway. It's so far from canon it's almost ridiculous. Deidara is a librarian, for crying out loud.) In any case, don't read the story if you don't want to! I won't get all huffy and sulk in a corner. I honestly didn't expect you to read it in the first place, since I didn't think it'd be up your alley. Just know that yes, I am well aware that Deidara is acting normal for now, and I've already taken it into account for future chapters. 8D
