Every book contains explicit descriptions of rape. These are very rape-heavy books; Meagan's story is heavily shaped by rape, PTSD, and having a baby from being raped. Megan was also enslaved twice.

See this is why I've grown away from SM Stirling. I am not against using rape in a literary sense, but it seems like every book I read of his, he's trying to outdo himself on the weird creepy ways to rape people. Iremember being shocked by the casual rape in Under the Yoke but now? A jaguar humping a eco-terrorist and then replaced by King of the Olmecs for a great big public ceremonial rape? Yeah... I don't mind torture porn but it gets old when there's little to no point.
