Thanks! I have an outline for the rest of it, so hopefully I'll manage to finish the whole thing. They hurt me, but I do love them.

Oh, god. OH, GOD. *whimpers* Just...GOD. It's so messed up. It's like watching something go down in a tar pit. It's stuck and there's no hope and you can't DO anything but bear witness and it's sad and horrible (but really AWESOME--the story, not the dying of things in tar pits).

It's painful to watch two people who DO still very much love each other end up hurting each other in these most unintentional of ways, thinking that they're doing the right thing--or at least the least WRONG--thing and still not having it be good enough.
