It seems to me like he's talking to Mary, maybe he sees Mary in every woman, needs to see his women as innocence and his savior. Or maybe Bruce is just crazy-ish. :)

I think you're onto something there. And it is a little crazy, but Catholic school apparently changes you.

That is pretty much the summary of my "women and Bruce" essay. Heee.

The savior thing? Or the crazy?

I also find this song *puzzling*, but in an awesome way.

It's sort of an interesting flipside to 'You'll be coming down,' (which I actually like better though maybe only for the music).

Ooh, I hadn't thought of them as flipsides. I'll have to think on that. That one's on my maybe list for this year, too...

I am so glad you did this song; I love it but I never know what to think of it. It's kind of all over the place, but it's so lovely.

Maybe the glasses at the beginning are the ones they use for serving the wine in church?

seriously, is she Jesus? I CAN'T FIGURE THIS OUT.

Yeah, me neither. I wonder if it's a compliment if your lover compares you to Jesus? I know that nuns are sometimes called "brides of Christ" - or maybe that's just Old School.

It holds together perfectly well when you just listen, but when you start trying to *listen*, it kind of goes everywhere. Odd little thing.

From IM just now:

me: I find inlovewithnight's Brucemas posts to be awesome
I don't understand them at all
wils: heh
me: and every time I read them, I think, "I REALLY ought to like this music, yet, inexplicably, I do not."
wils: hahaha
me: I mean they are all about women, and redemption, and lust, and grace, and WOMEN, and did I mention redemption? And did I mention women?
wils: heh
me: why do I not like this?

Ha ha ha. Well, they don't tend to have an uptempo dance beat, for one thing! ;)
