I'd actually prefer if you don't pimp this too much, because it could quickly become unmanageable to the point where I claw my eyes out. It's a public post, stumbleupons are welcome, and totally go ahead and invite people you know are ficathon-effective, but...let's not go around linking this in comms or newsletters, okay?

So! What is this, how does it work, the usual. (Thanks to callmesandy and mosca for advice.)
* This is for those fic requests you really want, but can't fit into any of the other holiday exchanges. Maybe it's in a fandom that's too big for Yuletide but doesn't have its own exchange. Maybe it would fit in an exchange that you're unable to do because of requirements or deadlines. Maybe it's a story you're hankering for but just doesn't quite seem like something that FITS in another exchange. Use your own judgement. (The theme of this 'thon is "use your own judgement." I'm trusting everyone to be a grown-up. I know, I know.)
* It is a matched ficathon, with a specific recipient for each participant. This adds the layer of "I'm letting someone down!" guilt that's missing from prompt/claim ficathons. Gives it that extra crunchy goodness.
* You can make three requests. You will only receive one story, so make sure all three are things you would be happy with.
* All fandoms are allowed, as is RPF, but if you're going to request something especially rare, you might want to touch base with other people who write it to make sure they mention it in their "fandoms I can write" list. Yuletide-eligible fandoms are allowed, but please don't replicate your Yuletide requests here; remember, the point is that this is for requests you for whatever reason aren't making there.
* Requests for incestuous, underage or cross-generational pairings are allowed; if you are not comfortable writing those, there is a place in the sign-up to state so.
* Only one of the three requests may be a crossover.
* All requests should include a fandom and some kind of prompt. A specific pairing or character focus is appreciated, but if you'll honestly take *anything* in a given fandom, at least provide a theme, song lyric, or some other starting point for your writer. Prompts can be vague ("West Wing, different definitions of patriotism") or specific ("Buffyverse, Fred/Spike/Angel established threesome, the getting-ready-in-the-morning routine"). Just keep in mind that playing stump the author is never cool.
* When listing fandoms that you are willing to write, you may disclaim specific characters in each one. ("Buffyverse [not Andrew or Dawn]") If you find yourself wondering if you're disclaiming so many characters that maybe you shouldn't even list the fandom...don't list the fandom.
* "Genres or scenarios I cannot write" would be where you list things like underage/crossgen, het, slash, threesomes, BDSM, rapefic, or any other broad category you are uncomfortable writing.
* You can edit your comments to change your *offered* fandoms right up until sign-ups close, but if you're going to change your *requests*, please delete the comment and make a new one.
* Signups run from today until November 9 (a week and a half). Assignments will go out by November 12. Deadline is Christmas Eve (so you have six weeks of writing time).
* If I can't match you in the first go-round, I will contact you for an alternate request.
* Post the fic in your own journal and link it to a master list post that I will put up here. We're going old school.
* If you need to drop out, please let me know as soon as possible so I can find a pinch-hitter.
* I'm going to quote my high-school band director here: "Come on, guys. It's not that complicated. Just show a little common what? Common sense. I also want you to take some responsi-what? Responsibility." :)
