Homicide: They all work at the mall
Gee runs the coffee shop in the middle of the mall, where everyone stops at the beginning of the day to get coffee and chat and receive sage advice. Frank and Tim run the cell-phone kiosk, and Frank has the best sales record in the company and can talk anyone into a new plan. Meldrick runs a men's clothing store with an awesome selection of hats, Munch is the paranoid security guard all the teenagers play pranks on, Kay runs a bookstore and kept Beau employed for as long as she could until he got thrown out by security one day for being drunk and belligerant. Falsone, if you must know, was eaten by a bear in the parking lot.

Friday Night Lights: Fashion industry AU
Tim Riggins is a Zoolander-style model. Jason is his manager, since his own modeling career was ruined in a tragic accident where he tripped and broke his fall with his face. All of the students are models, actually, working with the Taylors' studio. Tami is a photographer and Eric crankily supports her dreams, does the sets and lighting, and yells at the models to quit screwing around, what do you think this is, some kind of a game? Mrs. Taylor is trying to take your picture, here, Williams, strike a damn pose already. Julie desperately wants to model but they won't let her, she instead is in charge of craft services and makeup. It is tragic and angsty!

Angel: They're all in a band
Cordelia is, of course, the lead singer. As if she would do anything else. Wesley plays bass, because nobody ever notices the bass player. Angel is the lead guitarist, except when he has a hissy fit and quits, then they have Lindsey step in. But Angel always comes back, beats up Lindsey, and gets his place back again. Gunn is the drummer. Fred does tech/roadie stuff, and Lorne is the manager, as well as stepping in for solos once in a while. Lilah is the record-label scout who tries to get them to sell out and make soulless, empty records OH NOES. Maybe Doyle runs the indie label that will let them stay true to themselves? Hmmm.

Hornblower: Cowboys
Eddie Pellew owns Indefatigable Ranch, which is much like the ranch on Bonanza. Clayton, Bowles, and Bracegirdle are Adam, Hoss, and Little Joe equivalents, with Clayton getting shot early on, obvs. By Jack Simpson's oil company that's trying to buy up the land. Horatio, Archie, Matthews, Styles, et al are all workers at the ranch, sleeping in the bunkhouse together, riding out on the herds and trying to keep Simpson and company from sabotaging anything. They go into town on Saturday nights and get cleaned up and go to the saloon and flirt with the saloon girls and whatever. God, I'm laughing so hard I can't type this. Awesome. Oh, Kitty Cobham is totally the saloon owner, and I think Edrington is the sherrif. Yes.

SGA: College dorm
Sheppard is the new transfer student. He rooms with Ronon, who everyone just assumes is a stoner but who is actually a 4.0 history student on full scholarship, take that, fuckers. Rodney lives down the hall, and can't keep a roommate for more than two weeks, so they just let him live alone now. He's already doing better physics experiments than the grad students, who all hate him and try to poison him. Elizabeth and Sam Carter are the RAs, and Teyla is the rep to the dorm council. Ford got kicked out two semesters ago but keeps showing up trying to hang out with the group, but they have to ask him to leave because of the restraining orders. It's very sad. The Wraith are the students in the next dorm, the sworn enemies of Atlantis Dorm in the inter-dorm competitions every spring.

SportsNight: Feuding businesses
Hmmm. Isaac is a CEO, and Dana is his second-in-command. Casey is a rival CEO and Dan is his second. Natalie works for IsaacCorp, and Jeremy works for CaseyCorp. The two firms have a fairly amicable competitive relationship, until Luther Sachs's company comes to town and tries to buy out both of them, and they decide to merge to try to evade the buyout. Hilarity and drama ensue. And making out.

Firefly: Spies
So the Firefly crew is a spy group. Mal's nominally in charge, a legend in the field, and Zoe is his second in command who does all the actual work and has awesome skills, but Mal does the crazy stuff that gets attention/glory. Simon and River are new!baby!spies, just signed up. Kaylee is the tech girl--the Marshall of the group, if we're using Alias parallels. Jayne is, of course, the weapons guy. Book is a new transfer, very mysterious, there's some suspicion he might be a double-agent or a plant. But of COURSE, it turns out that RIVER is the double agent! Oh noes! Except she's been BRAINWASHED, so they need to fix her and/or convince her to be a TRIPLE agent and confuse everyone thoroughly.
