Fic: "Reunion Tour" (SportsNight)

Jan 07, 2008 22:34

A pinch-hit for sn_holidays.

For scrunchy, who asked for anything Dan/Natalie. This is pre-shippy, I hope that works all right. ::tiny dance of Dan/Natalie love::
Rated B for Bruce (Springsteen. I, er, visited your user interests in search of inspiration, Scrunchy.)
Okay, actually rated G.

That's pretty close to Dan's standard version of optimism, anyway. A doomed, illusory work in progress.

Awesome!

I love the way you write these two, as always -- and yay reunion tour!

Did you know that Bruce really doesn't have any good lyrics about card games? UNHELPFUL.

Thank you! :)

My brain: Roulette.
Me: NOT A CARD GAME!

Sigh.

He needs more card-game songs! Come on, Bruce, how am I supposed to be able to use your lyrics as a go-to title source if there are these GAPS?

First of all, I am grievously disappointed in Kim and Monica, though I will let Isaac off the hook. For he is Isaac, and gets a special pass.

Second, I myself suspect Casey of not being a Springsteen fan. I once had him take Danny to a gig, and he didn't really enjoy it. But he liked that Danny was happy, so, again: free pass.

Thirdly: eeeeee! Dan! Bruce!!

Lovely work, and wonderful voices - I enjoyed this very much. And so speedy. My own pinch-hit is lagging behind, since it requires Holiday Schmoop, which is a bit out of season.

Oh, and not to brag (as if! Surely not! etc), but this tour? Bruce played four dates in London, and I went to three of them. The last was on a Sunday, I booked the ticket at almost literally the last minute, and it was the closest I've ever been - round the back of the stage, so I got a nice view of Bruce's arse (it was a very nice view, actually), but right up against the barrier. The Professor waved to us. It was joyous.

I considered using Casey as one of the three, but I figured I'd cut him some slack for once. Besides, Danny has probably corrected his weakness in that area by now. ;)

Thank you! And ahhhh, I am so jealous of your Bruce experiences!

Thank you! I love the dialogue on the show. I have some issues with Sorkin's character development and some other things (:;bites tongue firmly to keep from ranting:: ), but his dialogue, oh, love.

"What are you doing to Dana's desk?"

"Do you really want that information?" She doesn't look up, her hands still moving deftly from drawer to drawer.

"I..."

"Because if you have that information, and Dana figures out that you have that information, there is a chance you could be called upon to share it in front of the group, possibly in the middle of the rundown."

He drums his fingers against the wall and considers that. "Very true."

"Is that a burden you really want on your shoulders, Dan?"

I just want to drown in this dialogue forever. That's okay, right?
