Blaine was the sort of teacher that always got a decent headstart on his work, especially grading, so he didn't have it lingering in the background on his to-do list. He always functioned better if he got things done as soon as he could, so this was work not due for results until next week, but he wanted it gone so he could enjoy the weekend with his husband. They had nothing planned for the first time in ages, and Blaine was even contemplating a drive somewhere in the country, maybe stay at a nice little B&B somewhere, so some shopping. It had been a long time since they just rolled with their time like that. Everything lately was so planned, and they were both tired

The uncertainty in Blaine's tone wasn't lost on Kurt at all. In fact, he expected it, and had been mulling this conversation over and over in his head the whole drive home. He knew he had to talk about it with Blaine ASAP, but he also hadn't been entirely sure how Blaine would take it. He was a little nervous now and reached over the desk to take Blaine's hand, wetting his lips before he spoke again

It sounded like one of those sorts of things that never happened to normal people. Not that he thought of Kurt as normal on any level, he was beyond normal. He was amazing and hew as talented beyond belief, but as he sat here listening to Kurt talk about this, he started to get a nervous niggle in his stomach and he rested his fist against his lips uncertainly. "It sounds... intense. Like it would take a lot of time and energy. What about your business? You're not... considering it, are you? All these reality TV show stuff, it's really intrusive on people's lives, you know. You might get famous

"It's an amazing opportunity, Blaine..." Kurt murmured carefully, even if just bringing the whole thing up was suddenly flagging a whole lot of issues with it. "The money will be fantastic, and maybe I want to be famous? Maybe I miss performing and this opportunity could be something that gives me the chance to tap into those old dreams? It could be a really amazing launching pad for my business and maybe even a way to expose myself to shift into designing. I mean, it's not like you would be famous, it would be me. I don't see the problem."
Shit, he didn't mean to sound defensive, more like just helpless as he tried to help Blaine follow his train of thought. The truth was, he hadn't been able to stop thinking about it since it was offered, and it grew into a monster in his mind. It was all-encompassing him through the whole day and he couldn't shake it. He was maybe starting to realise that he didn't want to shake it at all. But fucking hell, Blaine was giving him The Eyes and Kurt didn't know how he was supposed to feel now.
