Trivia note: two of the three books I took on my trip involved archons. (The third was the first Dresden files book, which I think I am going to wait to review until I've read a few more.)

The problem is that *all* male SF/fantasy author photos look like guys who would be trying to pick up 16-year-olds at a renfair (or, worryingly, at DragonCon).

The difference is that Lynch looks like he'd succeed.

Really? We must be reading different parts of the genre then. I very seldom get that vibe off them. Even the ones I've met when I was a 16-year-old (admittedly, not at a renfaire).
