The tension, the excessive strain on all my sense organs was enormous. I barely overcame the fainting spell I had almost succumbed to. I slowly pulled myself up, put my arms around the neck of my faithful, incomparable, trembling horse and kissed him as perhaps only a lover kisses his beloved.
