there's a difference between just someone who has "red hair" (also a spectrum of red hair) and "ginger" (which is more specific), or am I crazy?

Also, not shocking about "less than 2%" of the world's population. Asia, Africa, and the Indian subcontinent account for a massive proportion of the overall population, and they aren't exactly turning out gingers.

forgive my lapse in correct terminology. Everyone's been using it interchangeably for a while now. I don't think by the technical definition that i'm really a ginger. Try telling that to mike, jak, duncan, etc.

Well, we'll just need to take up the hunt and see if we can't speed up the process! Pretty soon ginger hair will be as valuable as ivory, and whenever we track one down you can scream at them "THERE CAN BE ONLY NONE!"

Well, you need to find a male ginger and start breeding.

Breeding in captivity could prove difficult; gingers are known to be independent and feisty. They don't handle captivity (or any kind of control) well.

But Sire, it was only one ginger, my family has none of it's own, surely the king won't miss one little ginger.

I'm sorry, but if the king was to allow you to poach one of his gingers then he would have to allow everyone to poach them, there are not enough gingers for everyone.
