Geez. I wasn't watching this journal before now (and why not, I ask myself), and so I had to catch up on this whole story.

You're right, it's not light, but holy smokes is it good. You've really captured the mindset of a special ops person and how they react so very well. It's brilliant.

This chapter - so difficult to read and, I'm sure, to write. I ache for Jazz and for Prowl and Prime seeing him tortured like that. Gah.

I look forward to the next installment!

Glad you like it, I'm always worried that some of my stuff (and this in particular) is to dark and angsty for folk.

Disturbingly this chapter was and wasn't that hard to write, I was in a very bad head-space when this came along and while some of the details caused me trouble the overall shape and tone came very easily.

This and the next chapter are the point around which most of the story turns and they needed to have real punch for both reader and characters, re reading it now I'm wincing at the stuff I put them through. I'll freely admit to being no expert on special ops but it's a game that must carry huge risks to life and limb and it's a side of Jazz (and Mirage and Bumblebee) that needs to be shown realistically IMHO.
