huh?

OK, I just saw something in a mailing list I'm on, as an invite to join this new "women's forum". OK, I have nothing against girls, but I seriously think that this delusion of "sisterhood" that most women's (and "womyn's") groups encourage is a crock ( Read more... )

Ack, "womyn"--I HATE that! That and the whole hypocrisy of being "equal", but holding men to double-standards (a good example of that kind of bullshit is the way men are expected to drop 2 months' salary on a stupid ring).

I think a big part of the reason why women sometimes get lower pay than men is because they don't ASK for the higher pay, for fear of making too much of a "fuss". Fuck that.

I, too, have the same boob problem, by the way...

You make a valid point. Until thirty-some years or so ago, little girls were always raised to be demure and non-arguementative - and it still happens now, despite efforts from women's groups to teach little girls to stand up for themselves.

This is where I'm glad my mom was a 40-year-old tomboy when I was little. If I ever found out that I was being paid less for equal skill, you can bet I'd put up a stink over it. Only reasonable excuse I'd accept for less pay than any guy would be if he had more expierence or training or had been with the company longer.

...and hey, if Scott wanted to blow an entire paycheck or more on an engagement ring, I'd probably feel guilty enough about the cost that I'd get him a gift (or combination of gifts) of close to equal value...

See, I feel the same way about the engagement ring thing, but how many women don't? Even those who fight for "equality"?

I mean, some things really suck for women, but I think men really get the shaft sometimes, too. No wonder men don't know what women want...theyr'e getting some major mixed signals here...

Exactly! I also don't think that history should be re-written or that organisations should be forced to "make up for the past". Yeah, so a lot of women have been snubbed in the history books, bfd, a lot of people in general have been snubbed in the history books - how many high-school freshmen have heard the name "Julius Caesar" along with "Caius Caligula", people who did big things have been snubbed throughout history. Most of the "womyn's crusaders" fighting to re-write history also don't seem to care that the history they would be writing would not be exactly historically accurate, as these were times when it was socially unacceptable to do big important things if you had a uterus, so if you did, you were either burned for herasy and witchcraft like Joan d'Arc or you were called some other bad name and either ostracised or worse, just for trying to do big important things while carriyng arounf a uterus ( ... )

You have a good head on your shoulders and I'm sure your nipples are lovely. Most women are too critcal of their breast.
Sorry but I'll keep my penis

heh heh, why would I be more critical than necessary? My breasts are the source of my amazing super-human powers over many men who have not been brainwashed by the flat-chested and ass-less demons from Planet Anorexia...

Argggggggggh...I dislike hanging out with the MENSA 'i have high iq bow down to me' type. I have a above average IQ but who gives a fuck...I really don't. I'm so clumsy and a bit dizty so I wonder if those test are accurate. Can't wait to hear your definitions of street smarts and common sense.

OK, common sense versus street-smarts...

Common sense is a combination of things that everybody should know, like basic math and reading at least at a third-grade level along with simple things that any two year old can learn like "if the stove feels hot just standing next to it, you probably don't want to toutch it.

Street-smarts is more about reading people and knowing after less than five minutes which people need to be "read into" (just about everybody should know the kind I'm talking about), and which people you can take at face value. It's also about knowing your limits and knowing how to use both your strengths and your weaknesses to your own advantage. Like, if you're walking through a nasty end of town, the smart person knows to at least be walking with one other person, if not more, and at least look like you have enough confidence to defend yourself if somebody wants to start trouble with you. If you normally aren't very confident by yourself, getting a knife and knowing how to use it will give a lot of people that ( ... )

I was on depo once before this, and I was having similar symptoms as I am now. I'll stop the depo and have a really heavy, really long period and then not have one for almost six months. While it's convienent, it's kind of aggrivating because I live in reality and realise that condoms aren't 100% dummy proof, so I become almost a pregnancy hypochondriac and wind up blowing money on pregnancy tests and running off to the ER. I figure it's probably best not to start any new drugs to prevent "the baby virus" until I start cycling again, just to make sure that the depo is out of my system completely.

As long as I get "bowling ball boobs" for a few days, I'm hoping that this means I'm safe. I can't afford to spend too much on those home testing kits.

Oooh! No, don't buy Trojan condoms. The president of their company is very anti-gay and says that gay men deserve to get AIDS and that his product was not created for the purpose to protect them.

I've always used Durex Avanti, because I'm latex-sensitive.

Jeez, living in San Fran, I thought you would have heard about why Trojans are evil.
