I also have a lot of fun with sim outfits here too. |D Especially Amy~

--- --- --- --- ---

Well, it certainly was quiet.

With only Abel, Kira, and Amélie in the house, it felt a little empty.

Amy was sulking a bit from her other siblings leaving, spending more time painting as a result.

Sometimes she worried Abel with the things she drew.

Therefore, Abel decided to devote himself to spending extra time with her. Even though she was ten years old now, she still liked to be spoiled like a child.

"Abel! You did it all wrong!!"

"What?!"

"Didn't you see the picture? There's supposed to be ponytails on both sides!"

"Whoa, really?"

"Yeah really!"

"Aw geez. I'm terrible at doing hair without gel. Maybe we should've asked Kira."

Of course, Kira's opinion was that Abel spoiled Amy way too much.

"What the hell?"

"Hmm, you make a fine point there, Duke of the Fire Nation!"

"Very well, my knight Sir Panda and I will grant you thirty parcels of land from my kingdom!"

"Splendid!"

"...Abel. What the fuck."

"Now now Kira, you are in the presence of royalty!" Abel chided. "Watch your language."

"Abel, have you ever considered that you're indulging her too much?" Kira sighed.

"You know Queen Amélie, I think the Duchess of my domain should join me in these negotiations."

"Excellent idea Lord Abel! Lady Kira, would you like to join us?"

"Ah yes, now this is a royal gathering!"

"The Duke and Duchess of the Fire Nation together at my table! It is a fine day indeed."

"Abel, if you speak a word of this to anyone..."

"Perish the thought, milady! What is discussed at the negotiation table is a secret amongst us."

"Well spoken, Lord Abel!"

Kira sighed. "Very well. Now your highness, you spoke of land?"

Well, it was fun to play along every once in a while.

--- --- --- --- ---

Abel and Kira still liked to go on dates every now and then, so they would have Rhyme babysit Amy while they were away.

"Rhyme, can we go to the park today?"

"Of course Amy! Here, play with Lyra for a bit and we'll leave in an hour, okay?"

"Kay~!"

"Lyra~! Let's play, okay!"

"Pway!"

"Hmm, you might be a little young for peekaboo. Maybe I can teach you, huh?"

"Boo?"

Little Lyra had taken almost exclusively after Levi's side of the family. In fact, with that pale skin, dark hair, and green eyes, Lyra had most of Nessie's genetics! That curly hair was straight from Rhyme, though.

Abel was glad that Amy could be apart from him without too much trouble. A few years ago she would've been glued to his side, even at Rhyme's house.

"So, how are you guys doing with Amy?" Rhyme asked. "She's almost done with elementary school, isn't she?"

"Yep! Pretty soon she'll be a middle schooler, if you can believe it!"

"Also, do you see her awesome hairstyle? I'm getting the hang of it, aren't I? Amy's growing out her hair and her bangs are always in the way, so we clipped them back." Abel bragged.

Rhyme laughed - Abel definitely went the extra mile when it came to raising his sister.

"You guys are heading out to Sunset Valley, right?" Levi asked.

"Yeah." Kira responded. "We should be back early tomorrow, but we'll call tonight to make sure things are alright."

"Oh, don't worry too much!" Rhyme interjected. "You two have fun - we'll look after Amy."

"Amy? Kira and I are heading out now!" Abel called.

"Okay~! Have fun at the beach!" she called back, still playing with Lyra.

"What, no goodbye hug? Big brother's lonely."

"I gave you one this morning!"

Levi pulled Abel to the side and said, "Hey, good luck man."

Abel chuckled nervously. "Here's hoping, right?"

--- --- --- --- ---

So, while Kira and Abel were driving out west, the four of them went to the park!

"Oi, Amy! No running!" Levi called after her.

"Aw, let her have her fun Lee." Rhyme laughed, pushing Lyra in her stroller.

Lyra was giggling and babbling in baby talk, pointing to everything.

"Mama!"

"Hmm?"

"Bwee!"

"Okay dear." Rhyme laughed, having no idea what her daughter was saying.

It sometimes made Amy a little lonely to see Rhyme and Lyra do mother/daughter things, but...

"Hey Amy! Hey, hey, come here!"

"I think you're too heavy for this to work, Levi!"

"Nonsense! This'll work just fine."

"Uh huh, sure."

"Keep saying that and I'll launch you into the stratosphere, kid."

"I'd like to see you try!"

But Amy's family never let her feel lonely for long.

"Alright Lyra, let's try the spring horse, okay?"

"Horsey!"

"Woo! Lyra, you're a regular cowgirl already!"

"Hee hee~"

"Horsey neigh!"

"That's right Lyra, that is what a horse says! You're so smart."

"Okay, now it's time for lunch with Daddy and Amy..."

"NO!"

"Lyra Clover Ink! You're not going to be naughty, are you?"

"No no no!"

Rhyme couldn't help but laugh. Sometimes Lyra looked just like her father...

"Alright, up you go."

"Mama MEAN!"

"Oh, I don't think you'll feel that way after some apple juice."

"...juice?"

"Ah, there's a smile."

--- --- --- --- ---

Sunset Valley was lovely, as it always was. Abel and Kira were usually so busy in Riverview that they rarely got to go to the beach. It was a shame, because they both really loved it when they visited for their concert.

"I think you're plotting something." Kira decided.

"What makes you think that?" Abel laughed.

"I just have this feeling." she chuckled.

"Kira dear, you know that I'm not capable of complicated plans. Now come on - let's grab something to eat!"

She rolled her eyes. "You mean I eat while you pretend to enjoy whatever you order."

"Hey, it's still fun!"

As much as Kira teased him, she really loved times like this. Sitting in a seaside cafe, enjoying a meal with the man she loved. She appreciated little things more than ever now.

"The texture of this key lime pie is excellent!" Abel laughed. "Too bad you can't make a pie out of blood."

"That'd probably be the grossest thing ever, Abe."

"Are you enjoying your french toast?"

"It's always good here. How many times have we eaten here now?"

"Ten, maybe?"

"Ha! We need a customer loyalty card or something."

Abel laughed, but he was only partially invested in the conversation.

He was busy thinking about how far Kira had come in these three years. She was still herself - sarcastic but sensitive, always giving her all - but was now comfortable in their family. She was the type who would call a game of Gnubb stupid, then be crazy competitive and into it the next second. She laughed as hard as she cried, was shy when receiving compliments, and went bright red when Abel said anything mushy.

Yeah, he was completely in love with her.

"Hey Kira, you wanna walk along the beach later?"

"Sure. The usual route?"

"Ah, let's take a little detour."

The beach was always nice to walk along, even if they did have to stop every twenty minutes for Abel to put on another ton of sunblock. He gladly went through it to go out during the day with Kira though.

"You wanna hang out here for a bit?" Abel asked when they reached the eastern edge of the beach.

Kira smiled. "Why not?"

"Hey, think we remember the dance to our music video?"

"Ha ha, that was terrible, wasn't it?"

"It wasn't that bad. We got to dance on a luxury car. That doesn't happen every day."

Eventually the two just settled into watching the sunset, the day winding down much faster than either expected.

"Abel?"

"Mmm?"

"I love you."

Abel laughed and squeezed her tighter. "Me too."

When the sun had completely dipped below the horizon, Abel stood up, pulling Kira with him.

"Okay Kira, I'm going to need you to stand right here." he said, positioning her.

"Why?"

"I'm creating a background."

"And what would you need a perfectly framed background for?" Kira asked, quirking an eyebrow.

"Why, I'm framing you for my memories, of course!" Abel explained.

"After all, if this goes well..."

"...it'll be the best memory of my life."

"Wait, wait wait." Kira said as soon as he dropped to one knee. "Abel, you're not-"

"Kira dear, it won't be very romantic if you're talking over me."

"Well, not that I have a speech prepared or anything..."

"Kira Dayes, I've known you since we were seventeen. Ever since then my life came alive - we fought and we laughed, we sang and we cried. I'm crazy about you, and nothing could ever change that. So, that being the case..."

"...I went and talked to your dad, bought a shiny ring, and am now babbling like an idiot when I only want to ask you one thing." he laughed.

"Kira, will you marry me?"

"You think I could ever say no to you? Of course I'll marry you."

Abel laughed in relief, sliding the ring on her finger. "I would've asked you three years ago, but truth be told I was terrified of talking to your dad."

"What? You're like the son he never had."

"Didn't make me any less nervous though."

It wasn't until the ring was there, glinting in the last bit of sunlight, that the shock really hit Kira. She was really getting married. This was really going to happen.

"I love you, Abel."

"Well I certainly should hope so, having agreed to marry me and all."

"Good job framing the memory, by the way."

"Perhaps I was a photographer in a past life, huh?"

"Oh god, now I'm tearing up." Kira muttered.

"Considering you cry at Lifetime movies, not surprising."

"Oh shut it."

The two settled into the sand, Abel slipping on his ring to compare with her.

"Not too bad, right?" Abel laughed. "Now I get to be all mature and wear a wedding ring!"

"The dreams of thousands of fangirls will be crushed." Kira teased.

"Mmm, you're more than worth it though."

Abel ducked over and kissed her, lingering longer than he perhaps should have.

But why not? They had the beach to themselves, after all.

He found himself surprised when Kira pushed him back into the sand though.

"Kira?"

"Don't Kira me. You can't just kiss me like that and get away with it."

"Oh?" he said, smiling. "Are there consequences to that?"

She rolled her eyes. "Don't bother being coy now."

"Such an aggressive woman I'm marrying."

"Shut up. You love it."

--- --- --- --- ---

Happiness? In my legacy? It's more likely than you think.

But yes, chapter clear! Everyone's starting their own lives, and heck, I've let them be happy. I certainly made them work for it, didn't I?

Alright, I better start working on chapter six. If we're lucky, we'll get a bachelor party, a wedding, Amy as a teenager, and the first member(s?) of gen 6 that can be voted heir! It's about time, right?

Please comment! I must know that I haven't bored you to death. XD
