I’ve been trying to catch up on some be_compromised Secret Santa wonderfulness, because I want to comment on as much as possible before the reveals, and it seems that I didn’t post here about my gift…even though I’m pretty sure I did *side-eyes LJ*.

I'm totally with you on the commenting modes, I do exactly the same :D

I think constructive criticism is vastly underrated and I would love to get more of that... Can't improve and grow if you don't know what might be worth looking at again, right?

It's a brain thing :D

I try to differentiate between constructive crit and beta reading though, because in the first I've been invited to read and enjoy, wereas in the second I've been invited to spill thinky thoughts and honestly all over the place, and I get worried about coming across wrong sometimes. Personally I love constructive crit and other helpful things!

Yes, it is :D

True, and as they are two pairs of shoes I totally agree. If I beta, I get to poke at the holes in the plot or at the grammar or what have you, and the author is asking me to do so. And even then, if it's someone I never beta'd for before, I get nervous and apprehensive of overstepping boundaries, you know?

I adore con crit so much, you have no idea! It's also the reason I'm trolling everbody to read my fic and leave thoughts, good, bad, whatever. If it made you happy, I'd like to know. If there was something than threw you for a loop, I'd like to know. I mean I want to improve as a story teller, so feedback is love, especially con crit :D

(And sorry, long comment is long...)
