here he had been given second chances so often he almost wondered if he were part of some strange, badly-written plot that the universe was throwing at him, just to see if it would fly with the focus groups.

It is not often that I laugh out loud when reading this story, but you got me with this--got me good!

Man, oh, man. It seems as though nothing any of them does can have any effect on the others but the piling on of more angst. Poor Carson. Poor Rodney. Poor, poor John, who has really faced some difficult truths on his walk around the city. Though maybe good can come of that.

But Radek and Marc? I'm actually very happy for them. Marc can give to Radek with his surrender, and Radek can take back something of himself by accepting it. Well done.

Heh heh heh. What can I say? Inner!Rodney insisted on being heard, so it bled out into Fic!Rodney, I guess. ;-) I'm glad you found the humorous bit -- you're right that this story isn't exactly one for the giggles, so it was nice to find a good spot for one. *g*
