Ah, did Russell Brand get his start on the radio? I know a comic like that - he was brilliant on a radio show, with another guy as a straight man. He'd have me in stitches. He moved on to television and has had short runs on several different shows, but it's never been the same. He's awkward on tv. I wish he'd go back to radio, where he really thrived. (I'm talking about Adam Carolla).
No, Russell got his start (and almost end) on MTV of all places. He had a successful Saturday night radio programme but umm stuff happened and he (dis)gracefully resigned. Noel is in no way 'the straight man' to Russell although his dirty down and dry humour balances the mania of old Russ LOL.
I adore the two of them together and want to hang out with them at the pub. Noel won my heart on the Saturday night radio programme more so than my beloved Russell.
Your picture brings back fond memories of my visit to Scotland. There is a hotel across the way from Eilean Donan that my folks and I stayed in for a couple of days before we went on to Oban.

>Having misjudged our timing by about a day...
As you do ;-) When you were emailing me your itinerary and when chatting at 'lunch' I wondered about your timing... But your unplanned stay over in Glen Nevis sounds like a lot of fun. Years ago an old school friend and I spent one night in a very strange mobile home on Skye when our tent blew down! We too felt like we were entering the set for a horror film with a scary-looking mobile home owner and furnishings from an earlier decade.
