Uhh, You can be emancipated at 15?! Wow... if I had that choice, I wouldn't think I could take care of myself. I'm 18 now, and I don't think I can take care of myself!

Uh, it's not going to relate to the Naruto canon world at all, really. But I am going to try to have at least semi-equivalent events to some of the major canon stuff. (Sasuke leaving for example, though I think I'll have had that already happen, because I've discovered that as much as I generally don't like Sasuke, I rather like writing him.)

They're about to start grade ten, so some of them are fifteen (Naruto will be sixteen in October), and Hinata's actually still fourteen (she has a December birthday).

Well, I'm basing this off Canadian law because that's what I know, and I _KNOW_ one can be emancipated at sixteen, because I know someone who was. As far as I understand it (I haven't been able to get a clearer answer) one can be emancipated as long as one is old enough to work, and you can be legally employed at fifteen in NS, as well as Ontario, so that's my basis for that. Naruto lived alone according to canon since he was, like, eight, but that's just not realistic in what's basically our world. ^^;;

I wasn't sure because I think you said that Naruto has been staying in his apartment for 2 years following his emancipation.

Indeed, I've always wondered where he gets the money to live considering how he was in the Academy for the first 12 years of his life and how whenever he has money, he spends it. I guess it must the VIP treatment because he's a son of a former Hokage.

I assumed he must get some sort of social allowance-type thing, or else his apartment is paid for by the village and he just gets some money for groceries and stuff. There must be some sort of social allowance/welfare-type program in effect - Sasuke lived by himself, too (though he probably has more money, since the Uchihas had money).
