somehow, my recs list over at del.icio.us now has almost 350 links. um. i am a slave to fandom. anyway, it can sometimes be pretty cumbersome to wade through, even when you can sort by multiple tags and find only stories in which aliens made them do it, and teyla and ford hook up as the subplot to john and rodney hooking up, for example. so i'm going to pull out a few of my favorites just for fun.
really, stargate: atlantis fic never ceases to amaze me with its variety and weirdness. i just love that you can do pretty much anything in this universe and have it be totally normal. i've tried to put in a decent sampling of my favorite writers here. all these folks are really fabulous - you can read pretty much anything by them (and for most of them, calling them prolific would be an understatement).

ok, and then there's this one story that i've mentioned loving before. Freedom's Just Another Word for Nothing Left to Lose by synecdochic. the premise: john's dead, rodney's come back to earth. it's a story about love and losing someone and yes, it's sad, and yes, it's more than a little heartbreaking, but people! this may be my favorite fic ever. like of all time. it's just that good. but as levar burton used to say on reading rainbow, you don't have to take my word for it.
