I thought this film would be terrible, but The Smurfs actually wasn't!

The Smurfs is actually a REALLY cute movie and the silly pop-culture references that plague modern adaptations that I was so worried would plague this film... actually were kept to a minimum (I could've gone without the song and dance sequence)! And that one annoying scene was the only thing that felt like those tired old jokes about Smurfette

I'm glad to hear it's good! I get tired of seeing big-screen adaptions of old stuff pop up because they usually wreck them. But I'll have to look into this one.

Yeah, it had about two or three of those cringe-worthy moments ( one of them being that silly song and dance sequence that really should not have lasted as long as it did! ), but it was otherwise very, very cute and charming. And funny at times! ♥

It's definitely more geared to kids, but I think it'd appeal to anyone who's looking for nostalgia too.

( I'm tired of this trend too. ;^; )
