The pokemon fandom is indeed a volatile one.

I recall a friend of mine, Alexander Lucard, who actually works for the Pokemon Company researching new types and names of pokemon (since he has a degree in folklore) and writes for Beckett's Pokemon collector magazine hinted that May 10th would be the announcement date for Pokemon Gold/Silver remakes.

He was attacked mercilessly by some Pokemon fans as a liar simply because he got the news before they did. :/

Don't let the hate keep you out of them. Unless it's a really, really bad fandom when it comes to drama.
