A serious request

This goes out not only to my friendslist, but to everyone who follows me to read my fanfiction as well.

Please refrain from ever using the twitter/facebook function in any of your comments on my LJ.

It has been revealed that this will not only put a link to my journal on your twitter or facebook, but it will apparently make friendslocked posts ( Read more... )

First off, ew. I saw this option and yeah - I mean, sure, it's a fine idea if you want to broadcast every little aspect of your life everywhere, as some do, but they should make an option to allow the LJ owner to force it to never be available on their journal. Friends-locks are there for a reason and Livejournal trying to make everything available reveals not only an alarming amount of laxness by the internet world itself, but a policy shifting towards openness on here. Glad to know I'm not the only one a little concerned about this... :/

Yeah, I mean if you really want to make a connection between LJ and twitter, why not just make it so that the function puts a link there? that way, a friendslocked post would still only give the "not available for you" message to people not on the flist.

Ah heck, I really dislike all this social media stuff when it makes me transparent to every dimwit on the internet. Thanks, but NO thanks.

Wenn das mal nicht eindeutig ist. Und ich wette die 12 Deppen da sind auch einfach nur uninformiert xD

I think for many, that's a fairly difficult task.
I want a function that blocks the usage of this feature for my entire journal, including the comments... I don't even want this for my fanfiction. *I* want control over where my stuff is posted, damnit!

I hate the idea of linking LJ to facebook too. Hopefully LJ staff will take note of the poll and remove this :D

I think it wouldn't even be that bad if it was just a link to the original post. Pffft, if people want to crosslink their shit, that's their business. But the fact that I don't have control over where my private stuff ends up... no. just no.

Yeah its not right at all. I think LJ should have an option to disable it on individual accounts or something.

I agree. They're losing users by the thousands now, too. They should get their act together quickly...

Im really hating this option too. My fb is my fb and LJ my LJ i dont want what i post on LJ to end up on fb. and anyway wasnt there a feature like that already but only for public posts? dunno. This option just compleatly overides our privacy settings
