SAM TROUGHTON IN SHAKESPEARE!

He's playing Marcus Brutus in Julius Caesar (and if I'm remembering that play right, that's the main character.  Right?) And Third Gentleman in The Winter's Tale, which is slightly less awesome, but the play itself sounds brilliant, so I'm okay with it :P

MY POINT IT that Sam Troughton is DOING SOMETHING and we should ( Read more... )

sam troughton, awesomeness

DJGHFJKGHF. I just looked Stratford-upon-Avon up on the map, and it's MILES away. It's further than Birmingham, which is a three-hour train journey for me. WHYYYY.

Gah, hadn't even thought of that... it's about three hours for me, too (but since I do the three and a half hour train journey from Newcastle to Uni pretty frequently I'm unfazed, heh) which sucks!

But... Sam Troughton! Saying lots of complicated dialogue! And there might even be an after show talk! *tempts*

I think I'm looking at three and a half hours, which is... more doable than I thought it would be. What time are performances, do you know? I'm planning to maybe do a day-trip to Birmingham in April for Collectormania Midlands (damn you Russell Tovey) which would be nearly three hours either way, so if I can pull that off, I don't see why an extra half an hour or so would be difficult. I just need to make sure I can get back easily.

I'm tempted, I'm really tempted...

Damn, looks like the matinees don't start till much later on... The Winter's Tale is on first, but all the April dates are 7:30 (not really worth it for a unnamed part), and for Julius Caesar, the matinees are Saturday 6th June, Saturday 20th June, Saturday 4th July, Thursday 16th July and Saturday 25th July, plus a couple in August and September.

Matinees start at 1:30, runtime isn't confirmed but I'm guessing it'll be up to three hours (yay histories!)

Any good?

SQUEE.

The Winter's Tale is an awesome play - I read it randomly when I was younger, and I'd love to go and see it.

I just read one speech in this workshop thing last summer, and it was so amazingly beautiful it made me want to know more.

Shakespeare + Sam Troughton = what heaven looks like
