Oh man, this is totally IC, and I'm loving all the details here. I love stories that do cool stuff with game mechanics (like, say, dropped items) and what you've done here is freakin' awesome.

how neatly and quickly he could skin animals, how fast he was at snatching up trinkets dropped by the enemies they defeated before they sank into the sand or darkness never to be found again.

So cool!

Penelo glared at them - well, at Vaan

Hee! So in-character, for all of them. And of course Balthier is going to stand there. And then the last line? Oh, man, your insight into these characters is just fantastic. And how you've taken the whole dropping-items thing and used it to write such a cool look at the characters.

Necrocomments for the win!

THANK GOD. I'm so happy you think so! I really worry about my FFXII characterisation because I get so carried away with the language. So yes! VERY VERY happy that you like! :D And that I'm not the only one who loves playing with the game mechanics - I love even casual little references to stuff from the game! *hugs*

This is totally awesome. I love how you incorporated game mechanics in with a character study. A well done character study, I might add!

The small descriptions are really what made it. Like it was roughly the same reason that Balthier would risk his cuffs to help pick through bones and rags and fur and Vaan looking at Balthier for a while, biting his lip, then crouching next to him.

And! There was bonus character development! This really helped me remember why I liked Ashe so much.

So awesome.

Thank you! This comment filled me with glee. :D I love mixing the game mechanics into stuff, just because it's interesting to me, and I love character development! Mixing = good thing.

(To be honest with you, I didn't actually like Ashe the first time I played through it. Writing stuff with her kinda made me like her more though, just because she's driven and smart when she wants to be!)

Thank you again! :D

(Okay, so I started out liking Ashe? ...well, okay the second, I started out being kind of so-so with the Princess, and then I thought Ashe was pretty cool, and then I kind of got annoyed with her towards the end. She just made these weird, traditionally girly breathing noises so much! Possibly I'm just weirdly picky about certain things, I don't know. But I feel bad, because I can see she has huge amounts of potential. So! It makes me really happy, reading about her being awesome here, because I can totally see her acting like this and wish there were more moments in the game where her strength of character showed through. So yes! Extra awesomeness!)

♥! Yaaaaaaay!

Auuuuuuuugh the breathy noises irritated the hell out of me. It wasn't just Ashe - she's the one who did it most though - I'm pretty sure every major scene had someone making breathy noises over it. *headdesks* It's not just you being picky over that.

I can see she has huge amounts of potential.
TRUFAX: I actually said this about most of FFXII. It kinda... Skimped on the characterisation? Which is why I want to write lots of terrible fic about all the characters so I can see MORE of them! If that makes sense and doesn't sound terrible and egotistical?

BASICALLY ♥ AND THANK YOU SQEEMU! :D
