So, I'm rather drunk right now, so it probably isn't the time to write any kind of post, especially an apology.

There are no longer any Libs fics on this journal. Essentially I didn't cite sources on England's Dreaming - it was stupid,  and not intentionally evil, but there you go. I know better these days, but there are no excuses, and you can use ( Read more... )

I'm not really sure what you're referring to, but it seems to me that there's a huge difference between an honest error and intentional plagiarism. So I would be very surprised if it causes a mass defriending. Although we don't know each other very well yet, I'm not even considering defriending you. A mistake is nothing to be ashamed of, so I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks. I was stupid, and deserve to take some flak, but thanks! *hugs*

Oh, don't you dare stop writing! I couldn't care less if you copied the whole Bible and Talmud word for word. You're too excellent a writer to leave us wanting in the middle of the story. I want you in this fandom for years and years so I can see your H/D from every angle your mind decides to take. Stay put and keep that brilliant mind of yours right here where it belongs. Stay put.

Apologies for the annoyed and bossy tone of this. I don't control myself too well when someone threatens my glorious addiction, not even on a good day - and I had one very long lousy day full of work related crap. Stay where you are, okay? :)

I'm sticking around - if only to take my lumps. :) And I am rather attached to this journal.

Ahh, dammit... I knew I should have saved them while I had the chance. I kept meaning to, but I haven't been in a fic reading (or writing) place in about a year, and I guess I assumed they'd always be there.

About the "plagiarism" - I'm not sure I can comment just because I haven't read the book in question so I don't know how close your story was to the anecdote...but your writing is amazing, regardless, and as someone said above, what about your other stories? There's no need to take them down as well. You are really, really good at what you do. So what if you made a simple mistake, and then didn't go back and cite your source. If you feel you deserve to 'take your lumps' over this, that's fine, but then let it go - don't beat yourself up over it, because it's just not worth it. I don't understand why anyone would call you out on it and try to make you feel bad, either, but that's just me. You're a great writer, I love reading your stuff, and I'd never de-friend you over something as trivial as this. <3

Because they loved the book in question? I dunno whether I would have done it, but I totally understand why they did - and in a way, I'm grateful. They could have been a lot harsher, believe me.

Anyway, fresh start, moving on. I am sorry.
