That Damned Dial

Driving through Arkansas to Little Rock in the MeeMaw mobile -- temporarily named the GoldenGirl -- with a broken tape deck, you turn desperately but light-heartedly to the radio. Between cities, the channels get slim. I found myself listening to oldies stations between country and Latin channels and laughing out loud and banging the steering ( Read more... )

You're callin' up this season's "Christmas Story", aren't you? :)

Oh shit! I just suffered from wit lag! In other words, it's freezing every day in the Castro, right?

How are you doing, Fella?

Those are some good tunes...
Although, anything by that Marshall Tucker Band is highly suspect.
Hearing "Brandy" more than once is a true blessing, and the reason that Golden Fourwheeled MeeMaw was so sypathetic to the cause of transportation.
Oh,a blessing from the Heavens!!

So,how are you today,Sir?

OK: I have a soft spot in my gut for the Marshall Tucker band, ok? :) They make me think of driving midnight Eas Tennessee interstates, stopping at as many truck and rest stops as possible.

And I had meant to tell you about hearing "Brandy". It made me know I was getting to LR safely to see you. Not to be mystical about sexualized liquor or anything!

Been listening to the cds you made me, Fella. Not REALLY closely yet, but listened to about four Saturday night while Joe and I were hanging with our friend Puck. Really liked the Boredoms but I KNOW I LOVE 16 Horsepower. Have that cued up for another listen next. THANK you!

Today, I am doing ok but can't seem to shake the sleepies and the body-tireds. Just want to get this evening workday over with and slide home for a movie and some sleep ... .

How are you farin' Fella?

Sexualized booze can't be entirely void of social merit,Mang!

I figured that 16 Horsepower would be up yer alley.Good lyrics, interesting sounds, but not dark enough to mire one up on a bum trip.

I got a busy week, and I can dig the sleepiness of the day.
We need to get our naps where we can.

Well, hell! I guess I've put too much stock in sexualized booze to stop now!

Yeah on the 16 Horsepower thing! After I've listened to all three albums a little more closely, I'll let you know which one I like best. Still excited about listening to a little more.

Yeah, I've just got one of those feelings where I could definitely do with a stretch of time off from work. Not too bad, just feeling infinitely at-home-y and lazy ... .

"Wild Horses" makes me want to backroad drive through the Smokey Mountains.

I would LOVE to hear you do "Brandy" at karaoke! :) I can't sing for shit!

I actually did once. Got up with a friend of Joe's to sing back-up (or SOMEthing) on "Rock the Casbah". I actually shirk from most performances. I burn in limelight.

But thanks for the vote of confidence either way ... :).
