Hey all, it's Zumi here, as you know. You also know that LJ has been a bit of a pain lately. I won't lie, there's been talk of moving the game to either Dreamwidth or InsaneJournal. LJ has killed the drive of some people to post, is completely preventing others either because of network or mobile issues, and in general is being difficult to deal ( Read more... )

inquiring minds want to know, zumi is an ai, !modpost

I'm here for keeps. If Ink City stays, or if Ink City moves, I'll be there until you guys tell me to go fuck off or something. I want whatever is best overall for the game.

I suppose I should clarify my thoughts for the people who don't hang around Labo, as I've been thinking about it quite a bit since the first thoughts of shifting gears.

Pro-Moving:
  • LJ is pretty solid fucked. Its users have been sitting here for at least two years with hopes that LJ will "change their ways" and "get better" and really, they're just getting WORSE. They don't even deserve our AD REVENUE.
  • Neither IJ or DW is a Russian political soapbox, meaning we won't have to suffer DDOS attacks every other week.
  • 100 icons at IJ, plus I've been there in the past.
  • Dreamwidth's staff is pretty much the nicest, most considerate folks I have EVER met on a social networking site.

Pro-Staying:
  • Even with an event wrapped around it, uprooting a game can be a massive shift of tone and momentum in a game. That's not necessarily bad, but it's a gamble.
  • One way or another, a move will probably drive a wedge in our playerbase - those who don't want to move will probably NEVER want to move, even when/if LJ self-destructs.
  • Lacking a proper Dear Mun, ( ... )

I still think "The LJ staff is a bunch of giant twats" should be on that list separately. It bears repeating.

But they're Russian twats.

Is that racism?

I'm here to stay too. I made a journal at DreamWidth for Link, but if you decide to go to InsaneJournal instead, I'm totally following.

I hear that place has more default icons anyway, but I don't think we can straight-import, can we?

Either way, while I think we should move, it doesn't matter where to me. I'll be with you all the way.

So I'm here for Az too, since he can't load LJ. At All.

nyctotheory
lj kills my network, makes Firefox crash, and you can't blame my computer for being crappy cause it lets me stream ... sometimes.
So i literally can't post on here meaning that if this doesn't fix I'll have to permahiatus until it works again.

Personally, I'm irked that Dot's account is the only one I can depend on to post what I want WITH SUBJECT LINES.
Further more, the way LJ's HANDLED this whole debacle leaves a sour taste in my mouth, and I've no intention of renewing my account. 100 icons looks PRETTY nice from over here.

That's my main reason for moving, actually. While all this stuff is ugly, getting rid of stuff users use is jerky, and everything else, it could be excused. I could adjust, or use workarounds. It wouldn't be all that big a deal.

But the blatant disregard -- no, not even disregard. LJ staff members are insulting users clearly and bluntly and doing it in RUSSIAN, where a majority of us can't even defend ourselves. Everything they did for this was in RUSSIAN, so none of us got so much as a word in it -- and the Russians that did were just as vocally against it as we were, yet LJ pushed it through anyway ( ... )

Yeah, pretty much all of that. I usually don't pay attention to the newsposts, honestly, but this?

Yeah, I'm pissed.

I will stay with Ink City no matter what.

At this point, I'm honestly really just fed up with livejournal. If we say, I will of course still be here, but my vote is for moving somewhere. This game is so... unique. Like, it's the only game I've ever been in where I feel like moving wouldn't kill the game.

Plus? The event could be really freaking hardcore awesome.

It's just that I know people have been unable to play, and that's really really lame. Moving would solve that problem. And possibly get everyone more default icon space in the process. Errbody lurves icons.

EVERYBODY. If you say you don't love icons, you're a liar.

I made an IJ account for Dot. The space, it is BEAUTIFUL.

I have to go see about making one for Link now. If we really get 100 icons, it's time for me to start sifting again.

As a mod, I fully support this idea as long as we all work together, but we've talked about that earlier. Personally, I don't think we should stay at a place that's unplayable for certain members.

If we stay here, we lose people. If we move, we might lose people. Personally I feel we should take the maybe option, especially since then it'd be their choice to leave or not. If we're somewhere that outright prevents people from posting, it... just doesn't seem as fair.

I'm very sorry I did not discuss you with this previously either; Holidays and all that have sort of been keeping me busy. But please see my comment if you haven't already.
