hello. i just joined this community and i am looking for ideas on my first tattoo. does anyone have any recommended sites or books?

Get something unique. Don't look to books or to flash art to inspire you. What do you love? What will you love in 50 years? What is significant in your life? What do you want to remember? What do you want as part of your body for the rest of your life?

Answer those questions for yourself, and you might come up with some ideas. Find a good artist, tell them what you like, and they'll be able to give you some ideas to work with.

I've gone for flash initially (basically on price) & while I don't regret them I wish I had spent the time to get something truly unique.

It's worth the extra cash & time

Get a star tattoo, those are completely unique. No one has those.

Get a Celtic barbed wire around your bicep, those are completely unique also.

im gonna get a tattoo like popeye... an anchor on my forearm. or a bleeding heart that says "your mom"
