massive win

Backstory:  my pretty plummy Nikon Coolpix camera, which Steve got me last Mother's Day and which I loved dearly, has been missing since at least the second weekend of December, when we put up the Christmas tree and I promptly discovered I couldn't take any pictures of formerly feral cats lounging blissfully under its boughs, because I had nothing ( Read more... )

Excellent deal on the camera!

Tomorrow, of course, I will find the "missing" camera

Probably. :D

I tend to find missing item a when looking for missing item b later on. It's really weird.

I think I now want a Hello Kitty watch with zombie kitty on it :D

Wow ...

I have apparently forgotten more moments of unintended neuro artistry than many people have ever partaken in. :D

I'm amazed you were able to remember that image existed, much less sift through my pics to dig it up.

Actually, you should be able to buy just the happy meal toy from most McDonald's. When I was in high school I think it was $0.99, but I'm sure its more like $2.99 these days. I get a mcnuggets meal (with apples, not fries!) for Habibi from time to time, and often ask for the girl's toy if it is something as cool as this- I got the star-shaped one yesterday :-)

Oh! An apple would be a good idea. I forgot they offered that healthy alternative now. (Shows how often I go to McD's.) Then I'd just have to choke down the nuggets!

And yeah, I think just buying the toy is the easiest (and most nutritious) way to go, if they're willing to do that with this promo.

I've only ever been enchanted by one other Happy Meal offering, and that had to be 15+ years ago. They were giving out mini Barbie figurines. I'm not such a fan of the big-boobs dressable Barbies, but these were so cute - more like virtual "dollz" in appearance than real Barbies. I think I got 3 out of 6 of them.

I am just disappointed that the watch band is, like, 1/2 inch too small to fit around my wrist comfortably. McD's really should know they're not just marketing to preschoolers here. :D

Hahaha I know- but I figure I can make a way to hook it onto a bag or something. I haven't owned a real watch since high school!

I figure it could just wrap around my purse strap, but I don't want to lose it - and I do tend to lose such danglies. (I can't even keep buttons on my bags/shirts/backpacks/whathaveyou. Steve gave me a really nice activista pin [row 8, 3rd pin in] for Christmas that I put on my purse strap - and it was gone the next day. :( )

I don't wear watches for the most part, because I seem to have a preternatural power to stop them dead in their tracks, but I'd make an exception for one HK for a day or two. :D

Which McDonalds did you go to?? The one in Clifton didn't have them last week when I was hungover and seeking a happy meal.

Oh, no, this one is in Claymont DE. I only was there because of going to the cat clinic.
