chaos as usual

It's been an unpredictable few days. Good thing I'm not a big one for following scripts.

I've had a health care snafu. I've talked one-on-one with my kickass Congressman about the bailout rescue package big money-spending thing. I've taken a sick day, and put one cat (Pixie) on an antidepressant/mood modifying drug to try to calm her aggression ( Read more... )

Sounds a lot like how some affordable housing projects are operating in New Jersey. The difference being that if the homeowner sells above the initial subsidized price, the government gets 90% of the extra sale price.

Did they catch the idiot?

Who knows, maybe the New Jersey Congressional delegation was instrumental in working out that part of the bill.

The idiot was caught - that's how we have an insurance claim to make for the fence, and our neighbor for his wall and garden - but I don't know the details. Presumably I'll find some on the report.

Good luck with the police report! My insurance just switched to Aetna and I'm hoping I don't have any major issues. Although, I just found out today that my co-pay for PT is $40 a visit. ARG! 3x a week.... not fun! But there is no co-insurance charge, so I guess that is good? Where do you have therapy? I don't know if you have a Dreyer in your area, but that is where I am going and they are phenomenal and can pretty much fit me in any time which is wonderful.

Yeah, I was thinking about you as I was going through this, because I know you've been in therapy about as long as I have. $40 per visit = ouch! My copay is $30, and all of that is out of pocket at this point, because Steve's work reimbursement account is exhausted for this year.

I go to NovaCare, which Aetna doesn't allow for physical therapy but does for occupational therapy. Otherwise I don't know where the heck I'd have to go ... there aren't that many certified hand therapists in the area. I'd probably have to either go into Philadelphia, or out to West Chester, neither of which are spectacularly convenient for me. (And would have been even less so for the 8 weeks I wasn't allowed to drive.)

How's your injury doing?

Ouch is right! Fortunately, they are really flexible about it, so hopefully it won't be too bad. The injury is doing much better so that I've actually walked to and from work today and yesterday. Also I'm pretty much back to tap dancing, but I do have a few issues with balance and strength that need to be worked out. Hopefully before I run out of covered visits (I think they said 40).

My previous insurance was no copay but a 20% co-insurance, and I still have no idea how much that will be or when Dreyer will start billing that. I have to make sure I ask on monday.
