update on messed-up finger

Jun 21, 2008 17:10

I went to the doctor this morning for a once-over after the near-passout and self-wounding the other day.

He pulled my finger.

He was most intrigued by my finger, in fact.  He made sure I really couldn't move it, by folding it  down and instructing me to hold it in that position.  I couldn't.  He wiggled it a bit.  No hurty, which pleased him.  But ( Read more... )

Poor you, poor finger. I hope it works out in the best of possible ways.
My Mom once cut a tendon in one of her fingers and went the surgery route; it worked out well eventually but it was quite a long healing process.

he said I probably just stood up and got moving too abruptly after waking

This happens to me constantly...

Oh and thanks for inadvertently earworming me...

My sister passed out when she got a deep cut in her finger. That happened as a teen. She then passed out again when she was watching her son's operation on his hand. She is not squeemish at all but apparently seeing the blood of herself or a close relative triggers the reaction. Other people's blood is no problem.

Am I a terrible person because I got earwormed with DVN's Pull My Finger? No I'm. If it had happened to me I'd have started singing it to the doctor.

If the rest doesn't help did the doctor say what they could do? I know my first reaction was swelling and or shock in the area created a temporary problem that would heal itself

Clearwater was fun but would have been much more fun with you there.

See, this is how you can tell I'm not Alison. I passed out BEFORE I cut my finger.

And duh. Of course I was earwormed with Pull My Finger. That's why I wrote about it. *snerk*

What can be done about it? That's for the hand surgeon to determine, if I decide it's worth seeing him about. I'll let it go a few days. If it's not regaining mobility by ~Thursday I'll maybe call and set up a consultation. Or maybe I'll wait until I get back from the shore the following week, if it's not annoying me.

It's not really bothering me at the moment - it just sticks out at inconvenient times. And I can't do a lot of weight-bearing with that hand yet.
