Maybe because the list was voted by readers of the magazine, most of who seem to not even have been born before 1980? (the magazine is also based in London, so that might explain the British madness).

Yeah, I did a little digging after I posted, and discovered it was a reader-vote, which always sucks the credibility right out of any list.

I'd say some of the British shows really do belong on the list, but most of the U.S. dramas really don't. But then again, I'm trying to find slots for Perry Mason and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Get Smart and the MTM Show and The Bob Newhart Show and All In The Family and maybe even Maude, so I am a dinosaur.

And then there's Northern Exposure. *sniffle*
