have I ever mentioned that I hate driving in New Jersey?

I -totally- hate driving in New Jersey.

I went to Queens yesterday for a sad occasion.  3 states, 3 boroughs, about 49,000 bridge crossings all in one day.  Whee!

New York traffic was heavier than I expected, but at least navigation there was straightforward.  New Jersey navigation should have been straightforward too, but for whatever reason my ( Read more... )

Of all the states I've lived in, I always thought that NJ's signage was the best. It must just be me.

Or it may just be me. My New Jersey driving paranoia goes back a good couple of decades. I think it's not so much that signage is lacking, as that it's usually RIGHT ON TOP OF the turn you need to make. There's little or no advance warning.

I wonder what Paul's impression is?

I guess i'm used to driving with my Father navigating... he says "TURN NOW" just about as you are almost past the street. :-P

I bought a GPS navigation unit for a reason... to get from Philly back to NJ, not the other way around. ;-)

Though I'll admit, it often comes in handy here in NJ as well.

That is what driving in New Jersey is all about. They make it as difficult as possible to leave since otherwise nobody would stay.
