I know it's silly of me to comment on anyone else's omitted books considering all the ones on the list I haven't read yet, but Ender's Game? How, how, how can you go through life without reading Ender's Game? I know Card is a bit of a nut, but the boy can write. EG is really a lovely book. I've read it several times. And it's a super-quick read. Just do it! :-)
'k then! I'll gladly take the recommendation. I've only gotten into the whole fantasy/sci-fi realm over the past 3-4 years, largely at the fruheads' behest, so that would be your probable explanation for its omission from my "already-read" list.
Personally, I can't fathom why nothing by Tom Robbins makes this list. Speaking of boys who can write ....
huh. well, i found Ender's Game today. but i must say Card's reputation is freaking me out a bit. we'll see if i can stomach his fiction, knowing that irl he's a fascist. :P
