You have to hand it to the Washington Democrats and those commentators and bloggers who continue to shill for them. The Democrats count on the American public and their lobotomized lapdogs not to remember significant events from one week to the next -- and the Democrats' enablers willingly render themselves deaf, dumb and blind. That's been pretty much the modus operandi of the Democrats since the 1960s. And they have been able to keep their supporters at home because of the same kind of self-deluding lies that "it's worse everywhere else" for any supporter who might think about leaving.

That's the same thinking the Christian right is stuck with, which is why the Republicans still prosper, despite the fact that Roe v. Wade has not been overturned, gay marriage is now legal in several states, and prayer in schools has not been brought back - all issues dear to these folks (I used to be one of those).

Maybe they continue to vote for the Democrats as the lesser of two evils. After all, both parties equally suck at foreign policy.

At least the Democrats aren't trying to turn the country into a theocracy, whereas the Republicans are (Ron Paul excepted, of course!) That's a big difference.
