To maintain the illusion of consent, the State promotes the fiction of "representative government." In such a system some people can supposedly "consent" to the theft of property belonging to other people, and sanctify the plunder as an act of "mutual" consent. can you point to any system, past or present, that you would prefer to the one we have? i assume there are none currently, or you would live there.

Your question is akin to asking a slave "can you point to any plantation, past or present, that you would prefer to the one we have? i assume there are none currently, or you would live there." To put it another way, why not ask a deli owner which mafia don he prefers to be "protecting" him?

I prefer a "system" where no institution has a monopoly on the initiation of violence, especially with the "consent" of its victims. I'm not aware of any such system in the past or the present, so I will have to work for one in the future.

Perhaps I am a naive or a hopeless idealist, but someone in the 17th century who suggested that one day legalized chattel slavery would not be recognized as normal component of civilized society would have been considered naive and hopelessly idealistic as well.
