I don't know that I buy into it completely, but I do find him very thought provoking. I'm still wrestling with the seemingly contradictory views that 1) Consciousness is an emergent property of matter vs. 2) Matter is an emergent property of consciousness. I suspect that on some very deep level the answer is "Yes." :)
Having spent at least ten years trying to understand Chaos theory in so far as a non-mathematician can I find I'm really no closer than I was at the beginning.
I am attracted to the idea that the Universe is a conscious living being and we are all just facets of a metaphorical living crystal, but pantheism has still strikes me as a kinder, gentler monotheism. Just because the old man in the sky sits in a lotus pose with an enigmatic smile does not change the fact that there is still some one watching who is bigger, better, stronger and faster. It's just another Super Best FriendThere is probably a good "on the other hand" or "however" to follow that up with, but at this point I will just say a purely materialist
