America's Best Rock Band

I will of course be dating myself, but of the music I grew up with the absolute best collection of American rock musicians to ever record an album was the original Paul Kantner and the Jefferson Starship. I used to have that LP. I may still, I haven't looked through my albums in years. I had a lot of the efforts from the "San Francisco sound". Best overlooked albums: "Quah" by Jorma Kaukonen, "Black Kangaroo" by Peter Kaukonen, "Manholé" by Grace Slick et al., and "Joe E. Covington's Fat Fandango". Covington was the Airplane's drummer for a while, but never got much notice.

I had the LP with the spiffy booklet that came with it. I had it on cassette and I think I still have it on a CD in storage. It was in the first collection of mp3s that I accidentally repartitioned.
