Windowless II (and carless as well)

Well, back when I was younger I thought nothing of spending an entire weekend futzing around building a linux box or some other such geeky endeavor, but I value my time more than that now. However even though I can think of other ways I'd rather be spending my time beside spending 12 hours to do something on a linux box that is trivial in Windows ( Read more... )

So... which apps don't work in Wine? anonymous July 21 2008, 13:26:23 UTC
Inquiring Wine developers want to know. You
can't just kvetch like that and not expect to
be asked to file a bug report :-)

(Definitely get the bike. I got one for my 46th birthday
a few weeks ago (my old one was stolen) and my,
have they improved over the years. I ended up
getting a Trek with disc brakes (!) because the
lesser models all were somehow annoying during
test rides. After a week or so of practice 45
minute rides after work, this morning I'm going to
try riding the ten miles to work. Biking always
leaves me with more energy than when I started,
which is pretty important these days.)

Music In The Numbers does not work. Of course it's didn't work very well in XP either. The datetime stamp on the copy I have is Oct 19, 1999. I think it was written for Windows 3.1 so I'm not really surprised. :)

My favorite news reader, XNews works well except it doesn't seem to allow me to resize the columns and my favorite text editor PFE32 seems fine except the dos shell doesn't open, though I never used that feature so it's all good. I haven't really tried much else because for the most part there are equal or better *n?x apps for just about everything else. I'm not a gamer so I have no idea how games work. I wasn't really kvetching. I'm so far very pleased.

As to the bike, I'm definitely getting one. I'm about to post about that so stay tuned.
