me too! But I have a tendency to make a lot of emotional connections to all the various cards so probably any random input would seem uncannily incisive. To me, it's like a larger version of that "flip a coin to find out how you really feel about an either-or decision you're trying to make" trick.
My favorite tarot is the intuitive deck - pretty paintings that didn't already have a lot of rider-waite or other associations attached. My second favorite is the vertigo tarot, specifically because it has a lot of other associations attached.
Oh, the Vertigo tarot! I wish I still had mine -- at least, the parts of it that I didn't tear up or give to fellow cast members, for reasons that were perfectly valid in high school.
I agree with what you're saying, but it still surprises me. I didn't think I was imaginative enough to make up all those connections!
