i haven't had anything spoiled when i bought it, though my milk seems to go bad faster than it ought to.

i have seen fruits (berries, mostly) on the shelf that had already started going moldy though.

I've not had this problem with food from TJ's, but then I generally do not buy produce there. I bought strawberries once, they were fine.

No, but I do frequently find myself tempted to buy more produce than I will eat in the near future, resulting in spoilage due to bad or no planning.

i use trader joe's for frozen stuff (especially frozen fruit, but also packaged food), boxed staples (especially non-dairy milks), and dried fruit and nuts. their nuts are the cheapest around (which makes it tragic that their supplier is out of raw cashews). oh, and shiitake mushrooms. and soy cheese. and organic ketchup. i never buy produce there -- it's insanely expensive compared to a produce stand (which makes whole foods insanely^89 expensive compared to the same produce stand). i also get the organic free range eggs from trader joes but i've noticed that i get a lot of cracking when i'm hard-boiling them, and i wonder if the shell quality is not good.

they have a great return policy though -- have you tried it?

I've noticed that with organic bread from several stores (TJs included). Maybe because of the lack of preservatives in organic food?

That's true for sure, though I haven't had a lot of problems with their bread in particular. Refrigeration helps -- When I moved to Renaissance I was surprised to see doing it, since I'd always been told it was bad for bread, but it definitely worked.
