Just heard from Amazon that my book on perennial vegetables has been dispatched. I am twelve kinds of over excited! Clearly I need to get out more, but still... *Excite*!!!!
How to Grow Perennial Vegetables: Low-maintenance, Low-impact Vegetable Gardening by Martin Crawford
It makes such good sense on so many levels, less work, longer cropping periods, soil health etc... When I stumbled upon it I could only really think of rhubarb and globe artichokes as perennial eaters (aside from fruit trees and bushes) but it seems there is a heap of interesting stuff out there... I can't wait!
That's really cool. I'd been fixated on Asapargus as the only perennial that readily came to mind!
Having used the 'look inside' feature on Amazon I'm surprised by how many of them I've seen and photographed. Although I confess I hadn't got a lot of them down as edible at all! ;o)
If you want any Red valerian seeds let me know. It's pretty rampant* in my rockery so I'll have no shortage of seeds to contain in a month or two's time! I give it more free-range than many of the 'take over the universe' varieties of plants because it's actually very pretty. (This one's more pink than red, by the way.)
* Warning: once you have it, you'll never be rid of it again.
Wow! What a lovely offer. I'd love some seeds if it's not too much trouble. Could you let me have your email address and I'll send you my snail mail? I'm happy to pay postage.
